7th A Rochdale Scout Group

7th A Rochdale Scout Group 7th A Rochdale is a long established Scout Group near the centre of Rochdale, in Lancashire. The actual building was sold on to another Scout Group.

Rochdale is the birthplace of celebrities such as Gracie Fields & Lisa Stansfield. The group was established in 1943, 7th of December to be exact as a part of the Sunday school at Spotland Methodist Church. It was originally formed as a Wolf Cub pack and was sponsored by the church, this sponsorship continues to the present day. The group originally met in the chapel buildings, before moving to an

upstairs room just off Mitchell Street. The group made another move to the current location when the headquarters at Spotland Bridge were built by the members and opened in the autumn of 1962. In the boom times of the early 80's an extension was built to accommodate the increased numbers. Sadly the numbers declined in the 90's and the extension had to be closed. During the history of the group all of the sections Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts, along with the older, no longer existing sections of Ventures’, and Seniors’, have been active at some time. The group currently has the three active sections. These are a Beaver Scout Colony, a Cub Scout Pack and a Scout Troop. In addition, we partner a local Explorer Scout Unit, known as Spotland ESU. Though part of Pennine District, our older Scouts can now move up to the Unit, keeping them still part of 7thA.

We would like to confirm our activities available on the day, we have face painting, axe throwing, hook a duck, tin can alley and an ice cream van visit as well as another local group selling items to raise funds for their jamboree to Poland.....it looks like an awesome day, hope you can join us xx

Little update for prizes! The Pavillion have donated £50 voucher 😋, a fab meal for a lucky person. Auto Care have donated an MOT 🚗 and Dunelm have donated a gaming bean bag and a child's bean bag. The event sponsored and supported by Mechplant north west, thank you so much....we are sure other lovely businesses will joining us soon. You may purchase a duck for £2 to be in with a chance of winning 😁
