☕💛 FRIENDSHIP CAFÉ – THIS SATURDAY! 💛☕

Looking for somewhere friendly to spend a few hours, meet new people and enjoy some good company? Come along to Bobbing Parish Council’s Friendship Café.

📅 Saturday 29th August
⏰ 10:30am – 2:30pm

There will be plenty of tea, coffee and cake, along with cards, puzzles and games – or simply come along for a chat. ☕🍰🧩🃏

The Friendship Café is all about bringing people together, making new connections and helping everyone feel part of their community. Everyone is welcome, so please don’t worry about coming along on your own – you’ll receive a warm welcome. 💚

🚑❤️ FREE COMMUNITY FIRST AID & DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING – BOOK YOUR PLACE! ❤️🚑

Bobbing Parish Council is pleased to be offering FREE Community First Aid & Defibrillator Training for local residents.

Knowing what to do in those vital first few minutes of an emergency can make a real difference – and could even save a life. ❤️

📅 Wednesday 23rd September 2026
📍 Bobbing Village Hall
🕕 Arrival: 6:00pm
⏰ Training starts: 6:30pm
⌛ Duration: approximately 2.5 hours

The session will provide practical, potentially life-saving skills, including basic first aid and how to confidently use a defibrillator (AED).

⚠️ PLACES ARE LIMITED TO JUST 12 AND BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL.

We need a good level of attendance for the training to go ahead, so if you have been thinking about learning first aid, please get in touch and reserve your FREE place.

You don’t need any previous first aid experience – this is community training designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to help when it really matters.

Locals have been appointed to the new neighbourhood board that will lead the £20 million Pride in Place programme for Sheppey East!

The board, chaired by Garry Ratcliffe, brings together residents, business owners, community volunteers and professionals from across Sheppey East, with backgrounds spanning education, healthcare, governance, the voluntary sector, business and the arts.

This government funding is deliberately community-led: local people decide the priorities, shape the plans and guide the funding, supported by the council and central government.

The board will now work together with the community to create an investment plan.

🌸🌿 BOBBING IN BLOOM 2026 🌿🌸

Our judging team were out and about across Bobbing this evening, travelling every road and side street to admire the wonderful gardens, hanging baskets and floral displays throughout the parish.

This is now the third year that Cllr Karen Watson has been part of the judging team, and once again she was joined by Cllr Natalia Twardochleb, along with the youngest member of the Bobbing Repair Café team, who thoroughly enjoyed helping with the judging. Safely driving the team around the parish was our Clerk, Sarah Poole.

We visited around 100 gardens, and despite the recent hot weather, the standard was absolutely incredible. The judges were amazed by the effort residents have put into making Bobbing such a colourful and welcoming village. It certainly wasn’t an easy task choosing the winners!

🏆 We have selected this year’s trophy winners, but you’ll have to wait a little longer to find out who they are! The winners will be announced at our Garden Awards Presentation, so keep an eye on our page for the date.

🌼 Around 100 households will also receive a Certificate of Achievement in recognition of their wonderful displays.

📸 We’ve included just a few photographs from this evening’s judging to give you a taste of the beautiful gardens we had the pleasure of visiting.

A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to brighten up our parish. Your hard work, creativity and community spirit make Bobbing a wonderful place to live, and we look forward to celebrating with all of our winners very soon! 🌺🌷🌻

We’ve had a lovely morning at Bobbing Friendship Café, with plenty of friendly faces, lots of chatting, laughter and, of course, a fantastic selection of homemade cakes! ❤️
