Closure of Back Lane Public Toilets

Unfortunately, due to a fire at the Back Lane Public Toilets, which appears to have been started deliberately, the toilets have been closed until further notice.

The damage is currently being assessed to determine what repairs are required before the toilets can safely reopen.

We appreciate that this closure may cause inconvenience and I would like to thank residents and visitors for their patience and understanding at this time.

If anyone has any information relating to the incident, please can you share this with the office. You are also encouraged to contact the police.

Further updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.

It is with great sadness that Rochford Parish Council announces the passing of former Chairman and long-standing Parish Councillor, Myra Weir BEM.

Myra dedicated many years of service to the Parish Council and to the communities of Rochford and Hawkwell. Her commitment to supporting residents and improving community life touched countless people over the years.

In recognition of her outstanding service to the Rochford Day Centre and the local community, Myra was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM), a fitting tribute to her dedication and selfless public service.

Myra will be remembered with great affection and gratitude for her kindness, hard work, and unwavering commitment to others. She will be greatly missed by members, officers, and the wider community.

Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with Myra’s family and friends at this difficult time.
