This is Nick Adams-King, the Conservative leader of Hampshire County Council.
In his latest video, he asks residents to “lend” their vote to the Conservatives to block Reform.
Just stop and think about that.
After years of Conservative control in Hampshire…
After the decline, the excuses, the waste, the crumbling roads and the pressure on local services…
they are now asking you to reward them with your vote to stop change.
And the words he chooses to describe Conservative leadership?
“Honesty. Competence. Experience.”
The rank hypocrisy is staggering.
Because after years of their leadership, Hampshire is facing:
• A £132 million budget shortfall
• Roads in a dreadful state
• Residents paying more and getting less
• A council that always seems to find money for the wrong priorities, but never enough for the basics
So let’s be honest.
This is not competence.
This is not experience.
And residents will make their own minds up about the honesty.
This is desperation.
A tired administration, with a failing record, now trying to scare voters into backing more of the same.
They don’t want your vote because they’ve earned it - They want your vote because they know people are waking up - They want your vote because Reform is the real threat to the political status quo in Hampshire.
And they know it.
If years of Conservative control have left Hampshire with poorer roads, squeezed services and taxpayers constantly being asked to pay more for less, then the answer is not to give them another chance.
The answer is to replace them.

Real accountability.
Better priorities.
And a council that finally puts residents first.
