You may have noticed our Peony Border is undergoing a transformation. Once home to over 70 varieties, the plants had become overcrowded over time.
In November, we carefully relocated part of the collection, giving the remaining peonies space to thrive — so now you can enjoy these beautiful blooms right across the Gardens 🌸🌸

💛 Gold & Best in Show — Chelsea 2026 Success! 💛
We’re incredibly proud to have been part of Sarah Eberle’s award-winning ‘On the Edge’ garden on Main Avenue at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 for CPRE — achieving Gold and Best in Show 🌿
The planting team, brought together by our Head Gardener, Fran Clifton, included several past and present staff and students from the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens horticultural team — a fantastic achievement and a true celebration of collaboration.
A special congratulations to Sarah Eberle (pictured front) with team members Fran Clifton, Emma Fitch, Donna Hillier, Asami Furuhashi, and Megan Pack.
Also involved was the talented Artist Tom Hare, whose work you can see at the Gardens, with his giant willow pine cone welcoming you on arrival😃
💮Our Botanist Barry Clarke, also is at RHS Chelsea Flower Show showcasing his Rubus collection in The Great Pavilion — a beautifully designed display.💮
💛 A wonderful result and great cause — and a proud moment for everyone involved! 💛
