Romsey Library - Hampshire County Council Books, audio books, adult learning courses, free computer access, sessions for adults and children

Romsey Library is housed in an Old Boy's School of Gothic styled architecture built in 1872 by Romsey Parishioner, William Cowper Temple MP. The Library moved from Romsey Town Hall to this site, opening on 5th December 1968. In 2006 the Library was sympathetically extended and refurbished. The new interior complements the historic architectural features by exposing the restored fireplace in the main library and highlighting the Gothic style windows with commissioned textile art.

Today we only needed two spoons, star anise and cardamom for 'the Science of Spice' by Dr Stuart Farrimond.

The book is part of the 'World Food' collection which is circulating around Hampshire Libraries.

🦋 We are so sad to hear about the passing of the magnificent Dolly Parton. Dolly's creation of the Imagination Library saw that children from birth to age 5 would receive free books to inspire a love of reading, and this work expanded to the UK in 2007.

Thinking of joining the Summer Reading Challenge this year? Our Library team assistant Charlie has read 'Dread Wood' by Jennifer Killick.

Dread Wood is a book about the scariest detention ever!

Four kids in secondary school are given detention on a weekend. Ugh. But what's even worse than coming into school during their free time? Whatever it is that's lurking beneath the school. Plus a missing teacher, a creepy caretaker, and everyone's secrets on the brink of being revealed...

This was such a fun read! Funny, creepy, and fast-paced, it kept me flipping through the pages. This will be a great read for kids that love Halloween, monsters, and all things spooky. Even in Summer, it's a chilling read!
