SAVE THE DATE:

ANNUAL OPEN DAY: We would like to take this opportunity to announce our annual Lifewise Open Day. This is held by South Yorkshire Police & South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Joint Community Safety Department.

The annual event will be held at Lifewise Centre Hellaby Rotherham S66 8LB our purpose built fully interactive set https://orlo.uk/aYydB Thursday 6th August 2026, which is just off Junction 1 of the M18, and easily accessible by various bus services

On the day we will have Police and Fire vehicles and representation from various departments from Fire & Police and external partners. We will also have demonstrations and inputs on offer throughout the day on varying subjects. There will be some refreshments available on-site including drinks and cake. We suggest bringing a packed lunch if you are staying for a while. Please note the venue is cash only, we have no card facilities, though some of our partners will. If you wish to purchase cakes or drinks (all profits raised go to charity) or join in with the fundraising activities, you will need some cash on the day.

We will have lots of free child friendly activities on the day including, crafting stations, treasure hunt, uniform try on and finger printing plus lots of other things to see and do. There is lots of great advice for our older visitors, it’s really a day any age can enjoy and learn something new, it’s not an event exclusively for children.

Please be aware we do have functioning items in rooms which are not safe to access without adult supervision and there will be vehicles moving on occasion in the rear yard. It’s imperative that all children must be supervised by the adult who has brought them to the event, at all times.

The event is free to attend and open to all ages. As the centre is indoors it’s an event that the British weather cannot spoil. In the event of poor weather visitor numbers will be limited due to fire regulations.

The day will start at 1000 and end at 1500.

There is no car parking on site, the Lifewise car park will be closed for the event. Parking restrictions are in place in surrounding areas on the industrial estate. Please respect these restrictions, which are enforced by RMBC and respect our local businesses by not using the car parks at their premises. We recommend parking away from the location and using one of the regular bus services to the centre.

MINI POLICE: We had lots of fun this week at Maltby Crags Community School supporting the school Easter Fayre.

The Mini Police had a stall where they gave away crime prevention items and advice and guided the children on how to take and analyse their own fingerprints

Well done Mini Police and thanks to Maltby Crags for inviting us!

MINI POLICE: Today the Mini Police did their Community Engagement event. For this we and Rotherham Central NPT went to Liberty Church Internship foodbank in Masborough. The Mini Police then found out all about how Liberty Church support people in Rotherham by offering food parcels, hot food and friendship, should they need it.

The Mini Police then helped pack up food packages for the church to give to those in need. Then they were shown around the church when their volunteers explained all the other things they do to support their local community.

Thank you for making the children feel so welcome and taking time away from your volunteering to show them how you operate. You are doing a fantastic job!

MINI POLICE: Today along with Rotherham Central NPT we did a parking and speeding session with Ferham Primary school. The children had a game of road sign bingo, then we went outside to look at the signs outside school and how these keep the children safe.

The Mini Police then used the speed gun to check drivers were sticking to the 20mph limit on the road outside school

Well Done Mini Police!
