There was a little bit of a Cinderella moment on Swinston Hill Road, Dinnington this evening...πŸ‘‘ πŸͺ„

We've been dealing with the ongoing issues caused by quads and off-road bikes in the area. Today, two males wearing balaclava's decided to make a run for it after they fell off their quad...unfortunately for one of them their escape wasn't quite happily ever after as one of them left their shoe behind..πŸ‘Ÿ

The shoe has now been booked into police property and if you are Cinderella and would like to be reunited with your missing footwear, please contact us and we'll arrange an appointment for you to come and collect it...Of course, there will also be the small matter of an interview whilst you're here!πŸ˜‰

Next time, perhaps remember Cinderella had a carriage not an illegal quad!

With temperatures reaching 32Β°C in South Yorkshire today and expected to remain high all weekend, we understand that many young people will want to make the most of the warm weather.

We would like to remind everyone of the serious dangers associated with swimming in open water.

We strongly advise parents to ensure their children are aware of the risks involved in open water swimming.

Jumping into open water. It's not brave.

Be braver and don't give into peer pressure. Walk away from the edge and walk away with your life.

NEWS: Arrests, engagement and specialist training as officers flood Rotherham for operation 🚨

Operation Duxford returned to Rotherham earlier this week with a key focus on criminality and safety risks which unfortunately increase during the summer period.

Officers and partnership colleagues flooded the district to take part in a range of enforcement activity and engagement events. A total of 21 arrests were made during the operation - with 11 for domestic abuse offences.

Inspector Lee Emmott said: "Tackling domestic abuse is a real priority for us all year round, but we know that domestic abuse typically increase during major sporting events.

"We are always here to offer help and support and understand some may be hesitant, afraid or not entirely comfortable about telling the police what is happening to them. If that is you or someone you know, then please know that there are other organisations you can report information to, but we want to assure you that we are always here and we are always ready to listen."

Colleagues at South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue (SYFR) hosted a water safety event at Rother Valley Country Park - which our officers were keen to get involved in. A total of 30 officers received specialist throw rope training which can prove the difference in situations involving water rescues.

Council colleagues and PCSOs from our Central Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) held engagement stalls across Rotherham providing an opportunity to raise awareness of how we can all play a role in tackling violence against women and girls.

As part of our ongoing work to tackle drug supply, multiple warrants were executed by our North NPT, Fortify and Tasking Teams in the Thrybergh area. Our South NPT also executed a warrant at a premises in Maltby. From these warrants, we recovered a stolen moped, 700 vapes, a small number of drugs, two air weapons and made an arrest for possession with intent to supply.

NEWS: Day of action as Rotherham summer safety campaign launched

A day of partnership-led action is underway in Rotherham with a combination of enforcement activity and engagement events taking place across the district.

Today's (Wednesday 10 June) operation is the launch of our summer safety campaign in Rotherham - focusing on criminality and safety risks which unfortunately increase during the summer period.

Neighbourhood officers, as well as colleagues from Rotherham Council and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (SYFR), will be based at sites across Rotherham hosting engagement opportunities.

PCSOs and Rotherham Council colleagues are crewing stalls in the town centre, on Clifton Park and at Riverside House - sharing advice around domestic abuse and raising awareness about how we all can play a role in tackling violence against women and girls.

We will also be supporting crews from SYFR as they host a water safety event at Rother Valley. This will be an opportunity to share advice, as well as showcasing a water rescue demonstration.

Officers will also be carrying out enforcement activities throughout the day. This will include proactive patrols, arrests attempts and crime prevention initiatives.

Already this morning, Rotherham North Neighbourhood Policing Team, Fortify and Tasking Teams have carried out a collection of warrants in Thrybergh targeting those thought to be supplying drugs to our local communities.

We will be posting more content in relation to this day of action over the course of this week. Please keep an eye on our channels for the latest updates. Read more here - https://orlo.uk/tR2Fn
