Royston Library The local library for Royston Donate to Hertfordshire Libraries

It’s now easy to donate online to the library service by visiting our website.

We are often offered donations of money by users who wish to show their appreciation for the service. Those who visit the library are able to do this in person. Now you can also support the library service by donating online. You don't have to donate. Hertfordshire Libraries are a universal and free service to the community. Your decision to donate is an entirely voluntary one. We ask that you don

ate only as much as you feel comfortable with. You may want to consider either a one-off payment or more frequently.

100% of each donation goes directly to Hertfordshire Libraries and is used to maintain and enhance our services. https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/librarydonations

The Summer Reading Challenge is now officially over!

This is a massive thank you to all of our volunteers for all their hard work in making the Summer Reading Challenge such a success.

We had 24 volunteers this year and they volunteered for a total of 214 hours (between them!)

Their help was truly invaluable, and we are very grateful 🥰

In preparation for the coming Autumn, we have been having a look at cosy hobbies. Library Assistant Lisa loves embroidery, but this book goes well beyond that. Mending with Sashiko: The Japanese Art of Visible Repair is written by Sashiko expert Takao Momiyama and tailor, weaver and indigo dyer Kerstin Neumüller. As well as explaining the importance of 'mottainai', the Japanese concept of too good to be wasted, this book is full of beautiful images of mended garments and instructions on how to mend your own clothes in this sustainable way.
