Take a 30 second break from Walking Wednesday to watch the Cosmos dancing in the Walled Gardens at Wimpole.

Despite the most challenging summer, the garden team and their amazing volunteers have curated an ever-changing display of colour, scent and movement across the season.

Even if you've visited recently it's always worth popping back as there are sure to be new things springing up in the borders...

We're delighted to share a thoroughly hand-made production for Wimpole's Harv'Fest, which this year will run across 12-13 September.

Inspired by the fantastic characters knitted by the Wimpole Craft Group, a first year student at university of the arts took this on as summer home project.

We hope you feel likewise inspired to come to Wimpole Estate for Harv'Fest - there will be so much to see and do on both days to mark the turning of the season:

🎙Live music at the Stable Block: 10.30 - 16.00 with short breaks between bands.
🎨Seasonal crafts at the Farm: 10.30-15.30
🥕Changing climate and the future of gardening, Walled Garden: 11.30 and 14.00
🐴Shire Horse demonstration at the Farm: 11.45
🌾Talk on sustainable farming by Farm Manager Dave Hassall, Great Barn: 12.30
🐴Working Shire Horse talk in the Great Barn: 14.30
👨🏻‍🌾Scarecrow trail in the Walled Garden and scarecrow spotting in Wimpole Hall.
🌽Produce displays.
🐖Knitted farm and produce displays in Wimpole Hall.

And on Sunday the Series 1 Landrover Club will return to the front of Wimpole Hall.

We look forward to welcoming you to celebrate the new season in September!

This is Bernie who is a familiar furry face at Wimpole Estate as he sometimes accompanies his human to work here.

But even Bernie has to comply with the requirements that all canine visitors should:

🐕Remain on a lead throughout their time at Wimpole
🐾Restrict their paws to designated areas of the Parkland
🐑Resist the temptation to go near or bother livestock
🚮Remind their humans to pick up and correctly dispose of their poo

Good dogs like Bernie are most welcome at Wimpole - there's enough space to test the energy of even the most eager hound.

And don't forget that Pooch Passports are back, running from 1 September 2026 to 28 February 2027.

Thank you

Welcome to part 2 of the Dave Hassall Pod on hedgerows.

This time Dave's talking about management. How to ensure that hedges gain the shape and density that's needed to create rich wildlife environments and provide protection for soil, crops and livestock.

Hope that you find it interesting, do share any questions that come up.

Thank you 💚

On World Photography Day we're celebrating the work of the marvellous Mike Selby, a volunteer photographer who, across many seasons, has so brilliantly captured the life, beauty and variety of Wimpole Estate with his lens.

We're so grateful to all the photographers who generously spare their time and talent like this. Helping us to share stories about this ever-changing place and inspiring people to visit and return often.

Thank you.
