Rugby Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Team, in partnership with NatWest, hosted a scam awareness event to help educate members of the public about fraud prevention.
The event was well attended, and valuable advice and information were provided to NatWest customers on how to recognise and avoid common scams. Unfortunately, many people continue to fall victim to fraud, highlighting the importance of raising awareness and sharing prevention advice. We look forward to holding further events in the future to continue supporting our community and helping to keep people safe.

It’s been a busy weekend for the Rugby Rural North Safer Neighbourhood Team as we’ve been out and about across our rural communities, engaging with residents and carrying out patrols.

Here’s what we’ve been up to 👇

👮 Police Drop-In – Monks Kirby We held a police drop-in session in Monks Kirby, where we had some positive conversations with local residents, listening to their concerns and discussing the issues that matter most to the community.

🚔 Evening Patrols – Clifton upon Dunsmore Following some recent burglaries, our patrols have continued across our villages, including Clifton upon Dunsmore. As the nights draw in, we’re continuing to maintain a visible presence and help provide reassurance to our rural communities.

🚐 Community Engagement Van – Coton Park Our community engagement van was out and about in Coton Park over the weekend, giving residents the opportunity to speak with us and share their local concerns. We’ll be looking to visit again soon!

👣 VAWG Walk – Coombe Abbey PCSO Parish also conducted a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) walk at Coombe Abbey. The walk was well received and provided an opportunity to share advice and practical tips on personal safety.

Rugby's second Food and Faith Festival took place yesterday afternoon and was a huge success, with more than 250 people attending.
A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the event such a fantastic celebration of community, culture and faith. The event was hosted at Rugby United Reformed Church, with a wonderful selection of food provided by Rugby Mosque, Shree Kalyan Mandir Hindu Temple, the Ukrainian Community, Tamil Community, Seventh-day Adventist Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and United Reformed Church.
Guests were also treated to a variety of performances, including singing, dancing and readings, showcasing the diversity within our local communities.
We were delighted to welcome partner organisations, including Rugby Borough Council, Citizens Advice Bureau, Warwickshire County Council, Kind Communities, Kind Food, Rugby Street Pastors, Victim Support, and D.A.S.H.
The event was proudly supported by Rugby Safer Neighbourhood Team.
It was a truly uplifting day, bringing together faith groups, local communities and the police, strengthening relationships.
A huge thank you to everyone that attended 😀

🎃 Not everyone enjoys Halloween – and that’s okay! 🏡

For some residents, unexpected knocks at the door during the evening can be unsettling or distressing.

We have posters available for residents who would prefer not to receive trick-or-treaters, which can be displayed in windows or on doors to make their wishes clear.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents and carers, please remind children to look out for these signs and respect the wishes of residents by not knocking at homes where they are displayed.

Halloween should be fun for everyone, and a little consideration and kindness can make a big difference.

Thank you for helping us make Halloween a happy, safe and respectful time for our whole community. 🧡🎃
