This week is ‘Be Water Aware Week’ we will be sharing posts and information throughout the week.

We don’t want to speak too soon, but it looks like we have some sunshine! We suspect many of you are already eyeing up the garden and thinking about dusting off that BBQ. We’ve got some top tips to ensure that it’s just the food heating up!

🔥Place well clear of fences, sheds and trees and always on level ground (Disposables on slabs!)
❌Use proper lighters only (NEVER petrol!)
🐾Never leave unattended; keep children/pets far away.
💦Keep water/sand handy to help extinguish once you’re finished.
🧊Ensure ashes are stone cold before disposal in metal bin!

⚠️ URGENT SAFETY ALERT: Heat Pump Tumble Dryers ⚠️
If you own an integrated heat pump tumble dryer from any of these brands, stop using it immediately and follow the advice below.
✅ Baumatic
✅ Candy
✅ Caple
✅ Haier
✅ Hoover
✅ Iberna
✅ Lamona
✅ Montpellier

Why?
An internal short circuit can occur during normal use, causing the tumble dryer to ignite.
What to do:
1️⃣ Check your model and serial number online to see if your appliance is affected.
2️⃣ Contact the manufacturer to arrange a free safety repair.
3️⃣ If the plug is accessible, switch off and unplug the appliance until repaired.
Around 85,000 machines still pose a fire risk.

Join Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service – Technical & Transport Team!
At the heart of WFRS are the teams that keep our service moving forward! We’re recruiting Transport & Technical Maintenance Technicians – a vital role that ensures our firefighters can do their job safely. This is your opportunity to become a part of a dynamic and cohesive team with a vast range of skills and qualifications.

What you’ll do:
Maintain and repair essential kit like breathing apparatus, hoses, and gas monitors
Move fire engines and specialist vehicles
Fly drones for operational support
Provide critical out-of-hours cover for our logistics function

✅ Full training provided
✅ Every day is different – variety of tasks and locations
✅ Purpose-driven work that helps save lives
✅A full driving licence is essential for this role.

You’ll be based at our HQ in Leamington Spa and/or our workshops in Coleshill and travel across Warwickshire to provide support (vehicle and/or mileage provided)
