What a an Absolute Belter this event turned out to be. Saturday I will be in Bognor Regis enjoying a very short trip. But competing in a Summer Special.
It seems fitting that the Idea to host a competition in Rugeley originated from our former Town Clark holidaying and enjoying this very competition.

Did you know that Rugeley was in competition with Stafford, Lichfield and Nuneaton?
The Competition is being run by the Rail Service that connects all 4 together.
Now I wouldn't normally care if this particular outcome / prize was won by Rugeley. But given that we are the smaller, less populated, less finances etc. I think we should all vote, for no other reason than it would be Awesome to beat the County Town, and local City for a change.

It gives me Great Pleasure
Today to introduce not Just the winner of the Mini Town Crier Competition that was held on the 06th Day of June in the year 2026.
But also the newest Team Member of Rugeleys Events.
Mini Crier Zachary today took charge of his new Livery.
An educational story book that was printed in the time before Television that tells the story of Crier George Upton of Rugeley and his adventures with Lions.
He also took charge of a pretty Large Toblerone on account that This Town Crier needs to keep him sweet, Lest he try and take the job off me!!

The Ancient & Honourable Guild of Town Criers National Championship 2026-shall be held in the historic Town of Rugeley on Saturday, the 6th Day of June, 2026, from 9 o'clock in the morning until 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

From across the nation, voices of distinction shall gather to compete for the honour and glory of being crowned The Nations Champion Crier.

Among those answering the call are three esteemed criers:
