Bronze Wings Success ✈️

Last weekend one of our Cadets took on the challenge of earning her Bronze Wings.

After putting in time on the squadron flight simulator to build confidence, she headed into a full day of theory and hands-on simulator flying, mastering everything from control to landing.

Her verdict ? One of the most fun courses she's ever done and it absolutely flew by!

Weekly recap 23/03/26

Wing Field Day prep in full swing.

Monday - Drill Night
The team focused on change step and about turn on the march, working to stay sharp, precise and in sync.
Meanwhile the main squadron trained alongside OC 858, practicing their slow march.
The Aviation team also got some time on the flight sims to build their confidence and skills.

Wednesday - Aviation, Leadership and First Aid
A busy and productive night
Aviation: Cadets learned how to flight plan and put their knowledge into practice.
Leadership: The team recapped theory and refined their strategy for the upcoming competition.
First Aid: Practical training covered slings and treating broken bones.

Another week of learning, teamwork and progression.

Farewell CWO Wells

After 4 years at 858 (Rushden) and 4 years at 378 (Mannock) we get to say farewell to Cadet Warrant Officer Wells and welcome him into his new position as a CI on the squadron, making this decision to help further the squadron and support the cadets and their development.

During his time on the squadron CWO Wells has shown his leadership skills through his time as NCO IC, his dedication through his time spent in the wing running courses and volunteering. And has consistently shown and demonstrated the core values of the RAF.

Good luck with everything and we hope to see you further develop as a CI on squadron.

Celebrating Cadet Achievement!

On Wednesday last week, our OC Squadron proudly presented badges to a group of cadets who have achieved new qualifications over the past two months. A huge well done to each of them for pushing their skills, expanding their knowledge, and proving that hard work truly pays off.
