A WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE!

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming our new Chief Executive, Amrat Khorana, to our Rye day centre. Amrat joined in on quite a party, enjoying live music from our brilliant vocalist, Tim.

Meanwhile, our manager, Kerry, treated us to delicious hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream and marshmallows.

Together we sang along to favourite’s like "It Must Be Love" and "Beautiful World", all while playing a variety of musical instruments, including castanets and maracas. Our new Chief Executive got stuck in and excelled on the tambourine!

Music is a powerful way to bring people together, and can help with memory, mood, and overall well-being. Today was a perfect reminder of the joy and connection music can bring.

We offer a comfortable and welcoming day service at Magdala House in Rye, East Sussex run by etc Sussex (Registered Charity No. 1147918 ) for older adults with health issues, including those living with dementia.

WHERE: Magdala House, Ferry Road, Rye TN31 7DN (behind Ferry Road Health Centre)

HOURS: We are open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 3pm.

COST: Full day is £70 or for a three hour morning or afternoon session is £35. Funding may be available through social care direct. Lunch and help with transport is also available.

NEED TO TRY A FREE TASTER SESSION IN RYE (OR ST LEONARDS ON SEA) ?

Come and see what we are about in free 'Taster session' at our welcoming day centre for adults with health issues, lonely, isolated including those with dementia.

Your loved one will be looked after by our friendly, warm, trained staff.

You are welcome to drop them off, or stay and join in.

Your loved one can join in activities like word games, arts and crafts, singing and quizzes. The choice is theirs. Or, they may simply choose to enjoy a chat , or read the newspaper in a friendly and supportive space.

The "Toilet Roll" challenge brought fun and laughter to Magdala House yesterday ! The goal was simple: be the first to roll up a toilet roll—but there was a twist! A strategically placed saucer of water made things a bit trickier. Vera quickly took the lead and claimed the title of our "Toilet Roll" champion. Games like this are a fantastic way to help people with dementia stay active and focused.

Dudley & Barney, two miniature Pygmy goats from Fisherwood Farm paid us a welcome visit last week. We all enjoyed their company & they both looked the part in their checked bandanas. Some animals can be a great source of comfort for people with dementia.

Visitors can enjoy a full or half day with us, giving their carers a well-deserved break. Our friendly, qualified team is here to tailor everything to your needs. Relax with a newspaper or join in with activities like singing, arts and crafts, games, puzzles, quizzes and outings.
