This afternoon at Men's club we enjoyed a few games of dominoes and some refreshing beers or apple juice! Shirley and John are spending the rest of the afternoon completing a puzzle 🧩

The Excelcare Family is proud to be taking part in this years Pretty Muddy 5k at Beckenham Place Park on 11th July for the Cancer Research UK and our Excelcare Foundation charity. We’ll be walking, jogging, running, climbing, and getting thoroughly muddy in support of vital cancer research. It’s a wonderful team effort that brings us together while making a meaningful impact.

Across our homes and offices, we have seen first-hand the impact that cancer can have on individuals, families, friends, and colleagues. We have supported team members through the challenges that a cancer diagnosis can bring and understand how profoundly it can affect lives.

By taking part in Pretty Muddy again this year, we hope to raise vital funds to support Cancer Research UK's ground breaking work in improving treatments, saving lives, and helping to beat cancer.

✨️ This morning we had a special visit from the children at St Mary's School. They have been growing nasturtiums and pansies at school and they kindly gifted them to us to add to the garden 🌼.

We also had a visit from PAT Dog Milo and his lovely human Alison! 🐾 Of course he got lots of attention and treats!

Important Update – Roadshow Postponed

Due to the current Amber Heat-Health Alert, we have made the decision to postpone our Your Feedback Matters Roadshow, which was due to take place at Stanle Wilson Lodge Care Home on Wednesday 24th June.

The health, safety and wellbeing of our residents, families and colleagues is always our highest priority. This decision allows our team to remain fully focused on supporting residents during the hot weather and implementing the recommended heat-health measures.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding. A new date for the roadshow will be shared as soon as it has been confirmed.

To end the week on a positive note, we enjoyed a truly English afternoon in the garden! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ☀️

With 50s music playing in the background, delicious scones with all the trimmings, and of course plenty of tea, it was the perfect way to spend the day. 🫖☕️

Earlier, we started the morning by watching the 1966 World Cup Final, which brought back many wonderful memories for our residents, followed by the ultimate British favourite for lunch – fish & chips! 🐟🍟

It honestly couldn’t get much more English than that!

We’ve had a fabulous week filled with fun, laughter, and special moments, and we would like to thank you all for your continued support. We hope you all have a lovely weekend! ❤️

⚽️ Wear a football shirt to work day ⚽️

Jade kept us fit this afternoon with her amazing session of movement to music 🎶

We used Pom poms, hula hoops, balls and balloons whilst singing along and exercising to uplifting songs we all know well! 🎈 🥎

We ended the session with a well deserved glass of PIMM’s or elderflower/lemonade mocktail to cool us down! 🍹

Residents and club members together with team members enjoyed a fun filled afternoon!

Whilst we were crafting Ted spent some time watering the plants with his son Phillip 🪻
