🧭The Cornwall Reading Challenge starts on Saturday 11th July. This video gives information about the Challenge and how your children can be involved.

St Agnes Library is open today from 9.30 - 5.00 (Wednesday 17th June)

⚽ It's a football themed storytime at 2.00 and we'll be making Father's Day cards. Come along in football kits or sporty clothes if you like!

😃 We're delighted with our new 'Bear Hunt' display (thanks Emma) and we'll be enjoying this story at a session next month!

🔍 The 2026 Cornwall Reading Challenge starts on Saturday 11th July and we're looking for young volunteers to help us run it. If you're aged 12+ and would like to volunteer at the library this summer, please pop in for an information/application pack.

😃 You'll be helping us sign up participants, talking to them about the books they've read, updating progress and handing out incentives. It's great for building confidence and adding to your CV!

Saturday 4th July - Cardboard binoculars craft session

Saturday 11th July - First day to sign up to the Challenge

Saturday 1st August - Entering St Agnes Carnival as "Extraordinary Explorers"

Saturday 12th September - final day to complete the Challenge

😁 It was 'all smiles' at St Agnes Library on Wednesday 10th June, for a special Rhymetime with Gemma from Smarter Smiles!

🦷 Gemma read a story about Geoffrey the Giant who was suffering from toothache after neglecting to brush his teeth and having eaten too many sweets and treats. He sought good advice from his friends and visited the dentist, who helped him out.

🪥 After the story, Gemma explained the importance of brushing to the families in attendance & gave out goodie-bags with toothpaste and information. Children were able to brush the teeth of Dylan the dragon, and learnt how much toothpaste to use and when to brush.

Gemma was on-hand after the session to talk to families with older children after school. Her display contained thought-provoking posters about the amount of sugar in popular drinks!

🦷 SPECIAL, FREE Story & Rhymetime at 2pm with the Smarter Smiles dental team! Discover Geoffrey the Giant and his friends from Toothy Peg!

🪥The team will remain in the library until 4pm and will talk to customers and families after school about good oral hygiene. There will even be some dental goodies to giveaway!
