We have been advised by Cumberland Council a temporary closure of Finkle Street and High House Road has been put in place to allow Fibrus to carry out utility works. These are expected to commence 30th June 2026 and anticipated to take 5 days to complete.

Location: C4009 St Bees, from its junction with the B5345 extending in a northeasterly direction for approximately 640m.

Alternative Route: A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C4009, A595, C4005 and C4007.

If you have any queries in relation to this restriction, please contact Highways (0300 373 3736), quoting the reference TTROC/19327.

Thank you to the 17 community volunteers who joined three of our parish councillors today to remove stones from the promenade. With a collective team effort all the stones were removed and it was great to see such community spirit. Thanks to all involved.

12/06/2026

If anyone would like to help remove stones from the promenade, we are meeting tomorrow morning to do so. Thank you for your help.

09/06/2026

We are organising a working party to clear stones from the promenade on Saturday 13th June, 10am to midday, if anyone is able to join us.

We can provide gloves, but volunteers would need to bring their own shovel.

Thank you for your help.
