Parking on Main Street and Egremont Road during resurfacing works

Please be aware that roadside parking will not be possible during the day or overnight in the phase where the team is working. Previously, time was lost trying to locate the owners of vehicles parked within the work areas. Thank you for your co-operation with this.

This work is planned to begin on Monday 2nd November and will proceed as follows:
Phase 1 – Day 1: Egremont Road to Nethertown Road
Phase 2 – Days 2 to 5: Nethertown Road to Outrigg junction
Phase 3 – Days 6 to 10: Outrigg junction to Finkle Street

EV Charging Points Consultation

The Parish Council would like to thank everyone who responded to the consultation on electric vehicle charging points in the village.The consensus view was that the following locations are likely to be suitable:
The Beach Car Park;
The Station Car Park;
The Fairladies Car Park.

Opinion also suggests that on-street charging points on Main Street and Finkle Street are not suitable to meet the needs of residents. Sea-Mill Car Park was ruled out on the grounds of flooding risk to the required infrastructure.

Following discussion at the Parish Council meeting of 19th October, it was resolved that we will request that community charge points for the car parks at the beach, the station and Fairladies be included in the LEVI electric vehicle infrastructure programme, details of which can be found here:

Please be aware that the recent stormy weather has thrown up some larger stones into the car park at Sea Mill, so please take extra care when driving through the car park.

EDIT - Update from Floodline:

'Flood warning no longer in force: Cumbrian coastline from St Bees Head to Haverigg, along the coast from North Head to Haverigg

The Flood Warning has now been removed. However, a Flood Alert remains in force for the wider area, so flooding of roads and low lying land is still possible.

We do not expect to see similar impacts from the next high tide.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further alerts or warnings if necessary.

Continue to take care on waterside roads and footpaths and don’t put yourself in unnecessary danger.'
