June Spotlight Title: Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell

Huge congratulations to Dame Malorie Blackman and Dame Julia Donaldson! ๐Ÿ‘

We are completely delighted to see these two former Waterstones being recognised in the King's Birthday Honours this year.

They have both done so much - and continue to do so much - to help every child discover a love of reading, and we are so grateful for their ongoing support of BookTrust.

We couldn't be happier to see that being celebrated at the highest level! โœจ

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 1st - 14th June 2026 is HiVis Fortnight, so let us highlight some of the great accessible features our libraries offer to help keep reading accessible for those living with vision impairments.

Did you know that all of our libraries offer collections of audiobooks? These titles are available to loan at no cost and can be played on any CD player. Listening to a book is a great way to experience reading if reading text is difficult for you. ๐ŸŽง

If you don't have a CD player or you like to listen on the go, you can also loan eAudiobooks digitally via BorrowBox. You can even adjust the playback speed to pick up or slow down the pace to your preference. ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Don't let vision impairment stop you from going all in this National Year of Reading. Browse our 'Accessible Formats' collection or check out our Digital Library via our website or app now:

๐Ÿ“šโœจ Staff Pick for the National Year of Reading โœจ๐Ÿ“š

This weekโ€™s recommendation comes from Heather, Library Assistant at St Helens Library:

๐Ÿ“– By Any Other Name by Jodi Picoult

Heather says:
I listened to the audiobook on BorrowBox but we also have the hardback here at St Helens.
It's a timeslip novel that explores the similar barriers faced by two female playwrights - Emilia, who was mistress to the Lord Chamberlain in Elizabethan London, and her descendant, Melina, in present day Manhattan.
Very evocative descriptions and moving, particularly the suffering faced by Emilia throughout her life. It also poses the question of whether Shakespeare wrote the plays we attribute to him, or whether he commissioned at least some them from a woman who had travelled more widely and moved in court circles.
Fabulously lush cover art too!

๐ŸŽง Available now on BorrowBox as eBook and eAudiobook
๐Ÿ“• Hardback available from the library service

Why not give it a try and let us know what you think?
