As part of the ongoing development of the historic building, the council is exploring the possible relocation of Newton-le-Willows Library as part of a new multi-service One Neighbourhood Community Hub. The proposal would create a more accessible facility while enhancing the range of services available to library users and local residents.

✨ What a dazzling afternoon at The World of Glass! ✨

On Sunday, St Helens Arts in Libraries welcomed the extraordinary Andrew Logan Jewellery Extravaganza to St Helens.

Audiences were treated to a spectacular showcase of wearable art as models adorned in Andrew Logan's iconic creations filled the venue with colour, creativity and sparkle. The event was beautifully complemented by make-up from , hair by Sara Lemm and the wonderful vocals of Sarah Mellor and sound tech by Phil McCready.

A huge thank you to , our amazing volunteer models, , , and everyone who joined us for this unforgettable celebration of art and fashion.

St Helens Archives were saddened by the passing of rugby league legend Sir Billy Boston. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fans.

Although our rugby records mainly feature Saints, we are proud he is also represented in our archive collections.

We're excited to launch Craft Club as part of our brand-new regular event programme, starting week commencing, Monday 7 September!

Inspired by books, stories and favourite characters, Craft Club is the perfect place for children to get creative, make something with their hands, and enjoy fun arts and crafts activities alongside other families.

✨ Relaxed drop-in sessions
✨ No booking required
✨ Ideal for primary school-aged children

Whether your child loves painting, sticking, colouring or creating, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Please note: Accessible craft sessions take place fortnightly to help children with SEND and other additional needs participate. Contact your local library for details.

What a lovely morning we’ve had celebrating 200 Years of Pilkington Glass - Explore the Archives!

As part of the International Festival of Glass at The World Of Glass, we welcomed groups to explore a selection of items from the archive, looking back at Pilkington’s history and its impact on St Helens.

It was especially lovely to hear participants sharing their own memories of working at Pilks – and one of our visitors even spotted himself in one of our bound copies of Pilkington News!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their stories.

Emma says:
Set in Paris and the South of France in the early 1950s, with a backdrop to the devastation of World War 2, and the fragile peace between the West and Russia, Eloise Caussade finds herself in a dangerous situation and web of lies and spies, in order to save her brother. Who can she trust? Who is working for whom?

Kate Furnivall's books, set historically in the early to mid-part of the 1900s, centre around ordinary women who find themselves in extraordinary situations; they have no choice but to rise to the situation to protect those they love, and themselves.
