We Are Stronger Together And Can Achieve More For St Ives:
Local businesses vote for a third term of the Business Improvement District (BID)

Yesterday 76% of local businesses, who voted, gave their support St Ives BID. The BID delivers projects and programmes which support both businesses and the local community, including New Yearโ€™s Eve fireworks, town centre summer planting and seasonal events.

Congratulations! - Everyone in St Ives has great memories of new yearโ€™s eve fireworks, but the Town Council also works closely with BID to tackle some key challenges for St Ives including traffic and transport, anti-social behaviour and the investment and training needs of our local business community. The Town Council is a levy payer and voted for the BID. Combining our efforts and funding together, we are stronger and can achieve more for St Ives.

Another weekend and another community event... this one however, is one of the oldest in St Ives The harbour swim, I did it once many many moons ago, and it's amazing to see that it is going as strong as ever with loads of competitors of all ages. Thank you to the harbour swim committee for organising and St Ives Surf Life Saving Club and the St Ives Lifeboat for keeping a watchful eye. It was an honour to congratulate all the winners, as well as hand out the Paul Fox cup.
The harbour put on a great show and looked stunning in the evening sun.

Up at the community orchard this afternoon. I love seeing these projects getting so much support from the local community... its going on till 7pm if you are up around the top end of town. It's days like today that make you realise how very lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place. And all the hard work the community orchard put in to this, one of the more special places in St Ives. And good to see our very own St Ives Library, The Tate and The Leach supporting these projects in the town.

Sunday morning surf church. This band of the keenest surfers meet up at West Porthmeor every sunday morning at about 8am amd get into the sea, whatever the weather. This Sunday was the 12month anniversary of these gatherings and I joined them for a little dip in the beginnings of one of the best swells this year... thanks Nathan Loxley from the St Ives Salvation Army for the invite.

And that, lady's and gentlemen, is that. The end of the St Ives September Festival and the last show in the St Ives Guildhall as it is closing down so we can clear it out and get it ready for a complete renovation. It's pretty exciting to see what the future holds for this amazing space. Thanks to the Bowie Lounge, Space Face for a great last show.
On ward and upward for the Guilhall now. Watch this space for the opening calls in approx 18 months if it all goes according to plan...
