This summer has been one of toughest yet for workers, with bus drivers facing 40 degree temperatures in buses that aren’t fit for a warming climate. The Green Party will always advocate for workers rights and support workers in their fight for safe working conditions. Our very own Hannah Spencer MP has shown exactly that, tabling a bill which will introduce safe maximum working temperatures, protecting workers from unsafe conditions.

This summer has been one of the toughest yet for workers, with bus drivers battling temperatures of up to 40 degrees in buses that aren’t fit for a warming climate. The Green Party will always advocate for safe working conditions and support workers fighting for their rights. Getting £5 million given to you by a convicted felon who calls you daddy isn’t a good look for anyone …

32 year old George Cottrell was indicted of 21 counts of money laundering, wire fraud, blackmail, and extortion. He was arrested whilst with Farage, who clearly is aware of his criminal activity.

After serving eight months in prison, Cottrell was back at Farage’s beck and call, handing out business cards for him, arranging stays at his properties and hiring people to run Reforms social media.

For a party which claims to care so much about “illegals” - it’s ironic to see that a convicted criminal is aiding their party.

The Green Party Trade Union Group is inviting members from across the country to join our online solidarity rally in support of the Birmingham bin workers.

This dispute has gone on for far too long. It is time to bring this dispute to a fair conclusion and get the deal done.

Join us online to hear directly from striking workers, trade union organisers and guest speakers about the dispute, why it matters and how we can all play our part in supporting a fair settlement.

This is an opportunity to stand in solidarity and send a clear message that negotiation, respect and a fair deal must prevail without delay.

On October 20 2025, UNISON members at Ash Field Academy, a SEND school in Leicester, voted to take industrial action over inadequate staffing levels, excessive workload, and health and safety.

Just days later, UNISON’s elected rep at the school, Tom Barker, was suspended from duty and escorted off the premises.

Throughout multiple investigations, Discovery Schools Academy Trust (DSAT), the Trust which runs Ash Field, has repeatedly changed the allegations against Tom in order to keep him suspended.

This has now gone on for more than 8 months!

✊🏽 UNISON members in the workplace are courageously taking strike action over Tom’s suspension and the attacks this represents on their rights to organise.

The next round of strikes will begin on Monday July 6 and last until Thursday July 9.

We are calling for UNISON members and supporters to help with a social media storm at midday on Monday July 6 to put pressure on the employer to reinstate Tom.

This is disgraceful. Unelected officials trying to sack striking workers and undermine elected councillors.

The previous Labour administration may have been happy to allow council officers to run the show and try to crush workers for standing together, but the Greens won’t.

The Green Party Trade Union Group stands firmly in solidarity with the Birmingham Bin Strikers. We are committed to supporting the deal our local Green Councillors were elected to deliver.

People don’t shell out 100s of thousands for a lark, they’re getting something back. And (shockingly) the interests of a multi millionaire don’t tend to line up with the working class.

Meanwhile the Green Party are people powered and people funded. Regular people chipping in from their pockets to push policy that actually fights for the majority against wealthy elites.
