COOMBE RD CLOSURE - 17 Nov 7pm to 11.59pm for 1 night:

To enable Wessex Water Services to carry out water main equipment repairs and associated works.

This Order will come into operation on 17 November 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 for 1 night.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of
the works.

The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

TOWN PATH - URGENT CLOSURE BETWEEN 28 SEP & 02 OCT:

Town Path will be completely closed off between 28 September and 02 October.

A high voltage cable running under the bridge/path is in need of replacement. Recently some 700 homes suffered a power cut and the fault was traced back to here.

The Old Mill and Rose Cottage will be accessible while works are carried out.

UPDATE: This has been pulled off the agenda and will appear on the next Full Council agenda to determine where funding/budget comes from for 20 Zones

ANOTHER 20 ZONE FOR WEST HARNHAM:

The city council's planning cttee will determine a new 20 mph area for West Harnham on Monday 21 September, when it meets at 6.30pm.

If approved, the area covered will be Bouverie Ave, Bouverie Ave Sth, Francis Way, Cecil Ave and Meyrick Ave. I am assisting the local resident with this one. Many residents have been canvassed and support its implementation.

This will be the third scheme for West Harnham, following the implementation of a scheme covering the infants and junior schools area from Saxon Rd to Norfolk Rd and all in between and on the opposite side, Middle, Lower & Upper St area and in between, which has already been assessed and meets the criteria for a 20 zone. This too, was led by a local resident.

I have a Motion on the agenda, to mark Salisbury 800. Hoping this gets supported as Motions did in 1999 and 2012. If supported, every child in the city will receive a commemorative medallion 'coin' of the event. Fingers crossed!

Norfolk Rd will be closed between Netherhampton Rd and its T junction further south for resurfacing works.
