Finance Officer (Part-time) – Salisbury Museum

Are you an organised, detail-focused finance professional looking for a meaningful role? We're looking for a Finance Officer to join our team at an exciting time in our development.

The Role 21 hours per week | competitive salary

You'll manage our financial operations – accounts, payroll, VAT returns, Gift Aid processing – keeping our museum running smoothly as we build on the success of our £5.1 million redevelopment.

We're Looking For
✓ Proven experience as a Finance Officer or similar role
✓ Excellent numeracy and organisational skills
✓ Knowledge of Xero, VAT and Sage HR/payroll processing
✓ Strong IT skills and attention to detail
✓ Flexible, collaborative approach

Bonus Points:
💡 Experience in the charity or heritage sector
💡 Interest in museums and local history

This summer, learn the secrets behind professional archaeological illustration with illustrator Jemma McCardle at our Festival of Archaeology workshops.

You'll master:
✏️ Accurate measuring & recording techniques
✏️ Capturing shape, texture & detail
✏️ Professional labelling methods

Working with real artefacts from our archive, you'll create your own detailed illustration to take home.

This Saturday, the ‘Bloomsbury in Wiltshire’ exhibition opens at The Salisbury Museum. Discover the hidden Wiltshire chapter of one of the 20th century's most influential creative circles.

Ham Spray House was where Bloomsbury's brightest gathered, worked and lived – and now their story is here at the Salisbury Museum for the first time ever.

See Henry Lamb's iconic portrait of Lytton Strachey (loaned from the Tate), rare archival footage from Ham Spray, and works by Dora Carrington, Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell and more.
