14th Regiment Royal Artillery 14 Regt RA provides a foundation for excellence; preparing new Gunners for their initial Regiment.

Formed in Woolwich in March 1900, with roots through the history of 28th Field Brigade, which saw action in virtually every major battle on the Western Front during the four years of WWI, and during WWII as part of the East Africa campaign. The Regiment was heavily involved with 25 pounder guns in the successful battle of Keren, Eritrea. Following a period of disbandment, 14 Regiment was reformed

at Larkhill in December 1984 to provide training support for the Royal Regiment of Artillery. Structure

The Regiment consists of 3 batteries with separate training roles:
1st Battery (The Blazers) supports ‘Find and Protect’ training for the Royal Artillery
24 (Irish) Battery provides Phase 2 training for new Royal Artillery soldiers
and 34 (Seringapatam) Battery supports ‘Strike and Integrate’ training for the Royal Artillery.

14th Regiment Royal Artillery and The King’s Gurkha Artillery recently completed its inaugural duty trek to Nepal. The visit provided a meaningful opportunity to support the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) and offer firsthand feedback on the organisation’s vital work supporting veterans and their families across the region.

Throughout the trek, the team witnessed the exceptional dedication of GWT staff, whose efforts from community outreach to essential welfare provision, ensure that Gurkha veterans receive the care, respect, and support they have earned through decades of loyal service. Engaging directly with veterans and their families offered invaluable insight into their daily lives, their ongoing needs, and the tangible impact of welfare initiatives delivered on the ground.

The journey also allowed the Commanding Officer, Gurkha Major, and Regimental Sergeant Major to experience the demanding geography of Nepal. This exposure deepened the team’s understanding of the environment that shapes Gurkha culture, resilience, and spirit, as well as the realities faced by soldiers’ families.

The senior leadership team returned with renewed respect for the Gurkha legacy and an even stronger commitment to supporting the welfare structures that safeguard the dignity and well-being of Gurkha veterans and their families.

Ex DRAGUIGNAN FIRES

The Close Support YOs' of cse 235 have had the opportunity to spend this last week with the French Artillery who are deployed on the Canjeurs trg area as part of their own YOs' confirmation Ex.

We had the opportunity to fire Ceaser, understand their Close Support equipment and meet General Pierre Olivier Marchand, who commands the French 🇫🇷 RSA.

Overall, it was a fantastic week of interoperability and defence engagement, which we hope to maintain ties for the future.
