Edukaid

Edukaid EdUKaid's mission is to improve the educational prospects of the most disadvantaged children in the

Our vision is for a world where every child has access to the education they need to realise their full potential and attain the skills to improve their life’s circumstances. Our mission is to make lasting changes by improving the provision and quality of education in the developing world because we believe that to learn is to live. Five core

values are at the heart of what we do and how we behave:

Community-led
Sustainability
Equality
Inclusion
Collaboration

Where problems are great and poverty extreme, the challenge can feel overwhelming. EdUKaid seeks to take small, sustainable steps, encouraging the people we are trying to help to overcome and find solutions to these issues. In this way our progress is authentic, integrated and provides the best way forward. Put simply, our goals are to:

Engage the communities we work with, head teachers, parents and children
Research projects and pilot them
Work within local government and education structures to complement their aims
Facilitate networking and collaboration across schools
Empower local people
Implement simple changes that can have a lasting impact

Meet Magreth, from the EdUkaid Tanzania team...
Magreth, our Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) lead, who plays a crucial role in measuring our impact in Mtwara. We have already invested heavily in our MEL frameworks, but we need to do more to ensure we capture the stories and statistics about the change your donations bring to peoples lives.
One lesson we have learned over the last 22 years is that when decisions are made by the people closest to the communities they serve, everything improves — responsiveness, accountability, sustainability. This leadership transition isn't the end of EdUKaid's story. It's the beginning of a stronger, more resilient chapter.
Your donation today - doubled through the Big Give - directly funds the capacity-building that makes this possible.
Help us support Magreth and the team in Tanzania. They are ready. With your help, they will thrive.

For 22 years, EdUKaid has worked to improve education in Mtwara — one of Tanzania’s most underserved regions. We’ve built schools. Trained teachers. Kept girls in classrooms. And we’ve done it all hand in hand with the communities we serve.
Now we’re taking the most important step of all: to start putting local people fully in charge. Our Tanzanian team including ‘Bon’ pictured here, know these communities. They speak the languages, understand the challenges, and are trusted by the families whose children attend these schools. They are the right people to lead — and with your help, they will have everything they need to do so.
Until next Monday (29th June) every donation is doubled by (PostcodeGlobalTrust). Help us raise £10,000
to start this handover — and secure 22 years of progress for 65,000+ children. Donate via the link below. 👇

We're delighted to share that EdUKaid is taking part in Big Give Small Charity Week - running 22-29 June 2026 - with the generous support of the (PostcodeGlobalTrust) as our campaign champion. That means every donation made during the week will be matched, doubling your impact for children in Tanzania.

On menstrual hygiene day we celebrate the dignity and strength of every girl by breaking the stigma around menstruation to ensure every girl stays confident and healthy in school. EdUKaid empowers girls through menstrual health education by involving communities in making sanitary pads, ensuring girls can learn with dignity and confidence in school. At EdUKaid, we initiate different girls’ clubs as safe spaces where girls build confidence, share knowledge, and support one another. Together, we empower girls to speak openly, stay safe, confident, and thrive in school and beyond.
