🎶 Wessex Folk Orchestra — Lunchtime Concert

Join us for a lively lunchtime concert with the Wessex Folk Orchestra, bringing traditional country dance music to life with energy and flair.

Their programme draws on historic sources including Playford’s Compleat Dance alongside newly composed works, offering a rich and joyful celebration of folk tradition.

Sunshine, picnics and superb live jazz 🎷☀️

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year's Jazz in the Garden at Arundells. After a rather grey and damp week, the weather turned just in time for a wonderful evening of music in the gardens.

Guests arrived with an impressive array of picnics and settled in to enjoy a fantastic performance from Tim Eyles and his band, who kept the audience entertained throughout the evening with great music and plenty of humour. One of the highlights was a special Latin-inspired rendition of Happy Birthday for one of our volunteer gardeners celebrating a milestone birthday.

Our sincere thanks also go to Parker Bullen Solicitors for their generous sponsorship of the event for a second consecutive year.

Spent this morning hanging paintings ready for this year's Salisbury Art Trail.

Pleased to be hosting work by three fantastic local artists; Joy Hillyer, Louisa Saffioti and Helen Southwell.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday for the very first Arundells Plant Fair.

We were delighted to welcome hundreds of visitors to enjoy a wonderful day celebrating gardening, community and the spring season.

Visitors explored a fantastic range of plants from specialist growers including Spring Meadow Nursery and Pocock’s Roses, while Salisbury Allotments & Gardens Association shared information about the benefits of membership and their gardening resources.

Our volunteer gardeners from both the public garden and Community Garden project also offered plants grown here at Arundells, giving visitors the opportunity to chat with the team and our Head Gardener throughout the day.

A particular highlight was opening our Community Garden space to the public. This important project supports wellbeing through horticulture and outdoor activity for a wide range of users, including military veterans.

Thank you to all of our exhibitors, volunteers and visitors for helping make the event such a success. We look forward to welcoming you back to Arundells again soon.

We’re back!

Arundells reopens today and we’re really looking forward to having people wandering through the house and garden again.

If you’ve missed the peace and quiet of Cathedral Close, or you’ve been meaning to pop in for ages, today’s a great day to do it. The house is looking lovely, the team is all set, and the garden is waking up for spring.

Come by, have a look around, and say hello. It’s good to be open again.
