Have you been on a bear hunt at Cotehele yet? We’re sure you’ll catch a big one!

The award-winning animation, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt (based on the much-loved picture book) has been brought to life through a new trail through the garden at Cotehele this autumn.

Follow in the characters’ footsteps to brave the elements and search for the bear. You can’t go over it. You can’t go under it. You’ve got to go through it!

The trail runs daily between 10am and 4pm until Sunday 15 November. The trail is free after normal property admission has been paid 🐻

Can you believe it's only a month until we start creating the 70th anniversary garland?

This extra-special garland project has been lead by gardener Kayleigh, who has spent most of 2026 immersed in a sea of mood-boards, planting plans and harvesting schedules.

The garland isn't just for Christmas: it's a year's work to create the most spectacular display of natural materials in the South West, a local tradition that began in 1956.

📆 We will be 'Creating the Garland' from 9 November to 19 November. Come and watch this spectacular display come to life in the garland's platinum anniversary year. Christmas at Cotehele, including the garland, will run from 21 November 2026 to 5 January 2027.

If these walls could talk... they would have more than 500 years of stories to tell 🏰

You have the chance to join our guides for 'Stories from the Stones,' a free one-hour guided architectural tour of the Cotehele on Wednesday 7 October.

The tour will give you a fascinating insight into these incredible Cornish buildings and the family histories and tall tales that give them their magic. The tours start 11:30am and 1:30pm.
