Along Ancient Paths Towards a New Beginning
Tomorrow, St Germans Priory becomes the starting point for a photographic journey along the Cornish Celtic Way.

Belgian photographer Luk Collet's exhibition brings together images from his pilgrimage through Cornwall, accompanied by reflections on the landscapes, ancient paths, sacred places and encounters along the way.

The exhibition has been taking shape throughout the Priory today. Here are a few glimpses as the final pieces are put in place.

Luk will also be joining us for a special evening presentation, ‘A Journey in Images and Stories’, exploring the landscapes and the stories behind his journey along the Cornish Celtic Way.

THE ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY OF ST TUDY CHURCH

Saturday 12 September, 10am - 4.30pm, in St Tudy Church, PL30 3NQ.

Raising money to repair the church tower roof and for the conservation of the medieval stained glass and embroidered reredos.

ALL ARE WELCOME to a full day of talks on the heritage and history of St Tudy Church, given by the key authorities on their subjects in Cornwall.

Jeremy Chadburn: the church conservation architect on what his job entails and what is needed to repair the church tower roof
Dr Joanna Mattingly: a well-known writer on Cornwall’s churches including Churches of Cornwall and Cornwall's Saints, Jo will talk about the early medieval history of the church (including why the left the job unfinished!)
Dr Paul Cockerham: an independent researcher based in Cornwall who has written numerous books and articles on the heritage of Cornwall’s church monuments. His talk will focus on the memorials in the south aisle of St Tudy Church.
Dr Patrick Newberry: an architectural historian based in east Cornwall, Patrick wrote his PhD thesis on the architect JP St Aubyn and will talk about his work at St Tudy.
The day will cost £25 to include a Barnecutt’s pasty, hot drinks and cake, all of the talks, and lunchtime activities including your chance to have a go at bell ringing.

A day of four expert lectures covering the church’s medieval history, monuments, Victorian restoration and current conservation needs. Lunchtime activities include the opportunity to try bell ringing.

Tickets cost £25, including all talks and activities, a Barnecutt’s pasty, hot drinks and cake. Dietary options are available when booking.

The event is raising funds to repair the church tower roof and conserve its medieval stained glass and embroidered reredos.
