🎶 RHYTHM TIME IS COMING TO SALTBURN! 🤍

After our Rhythm Time pop-ups proved so popular, I’m so excited that Melissa from Rhythm Time will now be bringing a weekly class to Saltburn for the very first time - right here at The Nook! 🎶

Starting THIS MONDAY, 7th September, little ones can enjoy 30 minutes of Rhythm Time followed by a full hour of play at The Nook - with the café open throughout for the all-important coffee ☕️

🎵 Mondays | 9am–10.30am

Places are booked as a half-term block for just £10.50 per week, giving you something lovely (and already planned!) to look forward to every Monday 🤍

7 weekly sessions | 7th September – 19th October
£73.50 for the full block

Joining us after the course has started? No problem - you’ll only pay for the remaining weeks.

With everything that’s happened recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about the people in our emergency services who are there for us during circumstances most of us can’t even begin to imagine.

It’s only a small gesture, but I’d like to offer free play at The Nook to members of our emergency services and their little ones.

If you could use a little time somewhere calm with your family, a change of scenery, or simply an hour or two of normality, please just send me a message, and I’ll get you booked in.

Whether that’s now or further down the line, the offer is there. Hopefully, The Nook can provide a little bit of light when it’s needed 🤍

Iced flat white VERY much needed this morning 😅☕️

Definitely flagging after a non-stop weekend of birthday parties, straight into a fully booked morning at The Nook!
We’re fully booked until 1pm today, with only a few spaces left this afternoon 🤍

P.S. Shaun turned out okay-ish! 🐑🎂
Considering he was made in a rush and finally finished at 11pm on Saturday night, I’ll take it.

I know a few of you were rather invested in seeing how he turned out! 😂

My little boy absolutely loved him, though, and that’s all that matters 💕

Just a little reminder that The Nook is now closed until Bank Holiday Monday 🤍

Although it won’t exactly be quiet - I’m only closed on Saturday because I’ve got private parties… so I’ll still be working! 😅

Thank you all for such a wonderful, busy week. I genuinely couldn't do it without you 🥰

After a super busy summer, I’m making the most of the little break from our normal sessions to catch my breath, spend some time with my family - including celebrating my little boy’s birthday on Sunday 🥹 - and actually see some friends who I don’t think I’ve seen since the café opened!

So please pray for bouncy-castle-friendly weather and for me to somehow concoct the best Shaun the Sheep cake you ever did see 🐑🎂😂

I’ll be back open on Bank Holiday Monday for anyone looking for one last lovely little outing of the summer holidays ☀️

🥰 We had a gorgeous Starting School Social this morning! 🌟

It was so lovely to see the children playing together, overcoming those initial little bits of shyness, and making new friends who they'll soon be seeing every day at school 🥹

And it was equally lovely to see the mums chatting away too - talking about what this big next step might have in store, with mums who've done it all before sharing advice, information and a bit of moral support ❤️

I didn't get many pictures because today has been NON-STOP 😅 so a huge thank you to one of my wonderful regulars for sharing some with me! If anyone else got any snaps today, please do tag The Nook or send them over 🥰

So, what does a Starting School Social actually entail?

🌟 A chance for parents and carers to meet and mingle
🌟 90 minutes for little ones to play and make new friends who'll be in their class
🌟 Kids' lunch included, served all together around one big communal table
🌟 A special personalised keepsake for every school starter

Starting school is such a huge milestone - for the grown-ups as well as the little ones! - and I really hope these socials become an annual Nook tradition, helping to take away a few of those first-day nerves ready for every September 💛

👟 SHOES OFF, SOCKS ON! 🧦

A little change at The Nook from Friday…

I’m now asking everyone — grown-ups and little ones — to remove their shoes at the entrance before heading into the café and play space.

Until now, it’s only been the baby room that’s been shoes-off, but being by the seaside, sand inevitably finds its way into The Nook (however much I sweep! 😅), and with wetter weather on the horizon, outdoor shoes will soon be bringing in more mud and wet footprints, too.

With so many tiny hands, crawling babies and little ones spending their time on the floor, keeping outdoor shoes at the entrance feels like a really simple way to help keep The Nook clean and comfortable for everyone. 🤍

So, going forward, please remember your socks! 🧦
