At the Market Town Festival, you can try your luck at traditional fairground stalls and entertain the kids with free activities including sand art, crafting, face painting, a Spot the Dragon trail and circus skills! And make sure you watch out for the Knightly Nonsense performers (it’s not every day you get to see unicycling knights jousting!)

Sandbach Market was granted a charter nearly 450 years ago by Queen Elizabeth I and the Market Town Festival event has its roots in the town’s rich market heritage.
Some of our traders have been operating on Sandbach Market for more than 50 years and are continuing the traditions of parents and grandparents!

All of the traders are passionate about offering value for money to market customers and there is lots on offer including:

Come and celebrate your weddings, birthdays and special events with us! We have three fantastic spaces for hire at the Town Hall, find out more:

Market trader Christian has been trading at Sandbach Market for approximately 15 years and is known locally as the Egg Man! You will find his market stall outside the Black Bear Lodge on Thursdays, between 9am and 4pm.

🥚 All free range
🐔 From local farms (including their own)
🦆 Duck and quail eggs too when available!

Sandbach Market is open Thursdays to Saturdays (9am to 4pm). There are lots of fantastic traders in the Market, browse the stalls for gifts, crafts, cakes, vintage items, records, jewellery and more!

📣 Family-friendly activities on offer as Sandbach Market Town Festival returns 🎉

Everyone is invited to come along to the Market Town Festival event which will take place inside Sandbach Market Hall and on Small Common car park on Saturday 12th September 2026, between 10am and 3pm.

Join us for FREE family fun and festivities, including traditional fairground stalls:
• Hook-a-duck
• Hoopla
• Inflatable axe throwing
• Test of strength

Lots of activities will be on offer at the Market Hall for the kids to take part in:
• Sand art (10am - 1.30pm) with Sand Art and Fun with Jo
• Face painting (10am - 3pm) with The Vivid Tribe Face Painting
• Circus skills (10am - 12 noon & 1pm - 3pm) with Co- train Circus Skills
• “Best dressed” fancy dress competition (judging takes place at 1pm)
• Craft activities and Spot the Dragon trail

Make sure you meet the Knightly Nonsense walkabout performers who are on a quest to travel the land and bring joy and laughter to all of the King’s subjects. Dragons will be tamed, royalty will be rescued and two unicycling knights will joust it out for glory!

🌭 Food and drink will also be available: snag a sausage and enjoy an ice-cream during your visit 🍦

The Sandbach Market traders are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Market Hall and you might even spot a Tudor costume or two! 🌳 Sandbach Town Ranger Service 🌳

The Town Ranger spent a day on Hope Street this week - weeding, tidying and generally sprucing up! The area looks much smarter now 👏

The Ranger Service helps to keep our town looking clean and tidy. It is funded by us as a top-up to Cheshire East Council services, and includes:
❤ Litter picking and general tidying
🧽 Graffiti removal
🌳 Cutting back of overgrown trees, hedges and shrubs
🌿 Enhancing green spaces
🌹 Town centre planting schemes
🪴 W**d removal
🖌 Sign painting and cleaning of signs
🛠 General maintenance

We have been made aware of several jobs across the Wards in Sandbach, which have all been logged. The Town Ranger works 2.5 days a week and is working through the list ❤

📣 Pop along to Sandbach Market Hall to see the Sandbach diorama🧶

Have you been to see the Cobbles diaroma inside the Market Hall yet? It's available to view during opening hours Thursdays to Saturdays (9am to 4pm)!

Early in January 2026, inspired by the extraordinary Longest Yarn knitted World War 2 exhibition, the Sandbach Yarn & Yarn crochet and knitting group had a fantastic idea.

The group decided to make a diorama of all of the buildings around the cobbles in Sandbach, including the historic Crosses, the Cenotaph and the cobbles themselves. Each group member chose a specific building or feature and – without a pattern to follow – drew upon their imagination and skills to recreate a faithful adaptation of this distinctive historical part of town.

The detail is amazing, with embroidery representations of individual building features, tiny flowers and even a miniature post box topper!

A huge amount of work has gone into the Sandbach cobbles diorama and from the start of the project until its installation it took approximately four months to complete.

❤❤We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Yarn & Yarn group for their hard work in creating this impressive diorama of our town ❤❤ The completed installation shows an incredible eye for detail and is a testament to the skills and vision of the group members. We are delighted to have the diorama on display in the Market Hall for the whole community to admire and enjoy. Go and have a look! 🎉
