📣 Armed Forces Week: The Sandbach Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club (AFVBC) 📣

Often referred to as Sandbach AFVBC, the mission of the Breakfast Club in town is to provide a supportive and friendly haven for veterans in the Sandbach area. Run "By Veterans For Veterans", the club creates a tight-knit community and all services are welcome (serving or veterans).

The Mayor of Sandbach, Councillor Sam Corcoran, has attended several local engagements during his first month as Mayor, including:
☕ St Winefride's Church Hall coffee morning to raise money for the parish of Ikutha in Kenya
🎺 The Party in the Park event in Sandbach Park (with the Mayor's Cadet Panashe Chaduka)
❤ The Cardiac Risk in the Young screening at SandbachGPs last weekend (with CRY Sandbach) where 209 young people were screened in memory of Aaron Dixon and Nicholas Holland, to thank them for their amazing efforts
☕ The Mother's Union coffee morning at St Johns Church, Sandbach Heath

🌳 Sandbach Town Ranger Service 🌳

The Town Ranger tackled a big project recently - clearing weeds and brambles from the walkway by Birch Gardens, following a report from a concerned resident. Several bags of waste were removed from the area, which is now much more accessible.

The Ranger Service helps to keep our town looking clean and tidy. It is funded by us as a top-up to Cheshire East Council services, and includes:
❤️ Litter picking and general tidying
🧽 Graffiti removal
🌳 Cutting back of overgrown trees, hedges and shrubs
🌿 Enhancing green spaces
🌹 Town centre planting schemes
🪴 W**d removal
🖌 Sign painting and cleaning of signs
🛠 General maintenance

Working across England, but proudly under Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, we are a team with vast Armed Forces experience who are here to help our ex-service personnel navigate the NHS around their service-attributable physical health conditions.

We have a brilliant team of admin staff, pathway navigators and clinicians who are here to help you this , and any time you need us.

We facilitate a Community Grant Scheme which benefits local organisations by providing funding for activities, events and services in Sandbach which meet the aims of the Council's Corporate Strategy.

Groups can apply for grants:

💷 Over £5,000

Last financial year, we provided 18 local community organisations in Sandbach with grants including:
🍎 Food provision support for The Pantry @ Sandbach Hub
🏉 Sports kits for Sandbach RUFC ladies team
💡 Sensory room development for St John's CE Primary Academy
🛝 Playground improvements for Ettiley Heath Playing Fields Association
🎺 Supporting Lions Youth Brass with their visit to the National Youth Brass Band Championships in Birmingham
🎶 Supporting choir sessions for the Stroke Survivors Speech & Language Support Group
