🎃 Halloween is coming… but should trick or treaters knock on every door? 👻
For some families, Halloween is one of the highlights of the year. For others, particularly elderly or vulnerable residents, an unexpected knock at the door can be genuinely frightening.
And that’s absolutely fine. Not everyone wants to take part. ❤️
Kent Police have produced two simple posters that could make a real difference this Halloween.
🎃 YES, trick or treaters welcome!
🚫 NO, trick or treating please!
Simply print the one that suits your household and display it in your front window or on your door.
And if you’re taking children out this Halloween, please remember:
👻 No pumpkin or decorations? Best not to knock.
🎃 A ‘No Trick or Treat’ sign? Please respect it.
👻 Younger children should always be accompanied by an adult.
🎃 Eggs, flour and frightening people aren’t harmless Halloween fun.
As Chair of the Dover District Neighbourhood Watch Association, I want everyone across our communities to enjoy Halloween safely, whether they’re celebrating or not.
❤️ Could you share this post? It might reach an elderly neighbour, a vulnerable resident or a family who would find these posters really useful.
Both official Kent Police posters are attached to this post. Just save the image you need and print it.
Halloween should be fun for those taking part, without becoming a worry for those who aren’t.
One question though… do you welcome trick or treaters at your door, or would you rather be left alone? 🎃👻
