Sawley Veteran. Jock McDonald has been asked to lay the first wreath at this years Remembrance Day Commemoration.
Sawley Parish Council took the decision a few years back that the honour of laying the first wreath should go to a veteran.
Jock said he was honoured to be asked.
Residents will also be invited to attend

Persistence pays off.

Thanks to the persistence of Sawley Parish Councillors & the Clerk - also the work put in by the contractor - Leisure Lights.
It’s regrettable that there are no lights in the area of Tamworth Road junction with Wilne Road this year as the lamppost providing the power was unusable and Derbyshire County Council were asking for some £1,800 for a new lamppost
Sawley Parish Council is looking at other solutions for next year.

There will be light

Let there be light on Beresford Road this Christmas.
Yes the go ahead has been given by Sawley Parish Council to extend its Christmas Lights onto Beresford Road this year.
The new lights will be ready for the big switch on end of November and they will compliment the usual Christmas Lights regularly put up along Tamworth Road, Draycott Road near the Co-op along with the community Christmas Tree.

The new lights will be low energy LEDs
