300 Isle of Axholme Squadron

Yesterday some of Cadets along with the Squadron Adjutant and President and a Staff Member and Cadet from 2008 Bawtry Sqn ATC attended the 65th Polish Bomber Squadrons Memorial Service next to RAF Northolt. This was a great Honour to be involved in this important event keeping our links with the The Polish Air Force Memorial Committee alive and remembering those that gave their lives for our freedom's today.

Although the weather was against us the Cadets did their Squadrons proud and we received nothing but thanks and appreciation for attending the event.

Last week saw six of our Cadets having the opportunity of Gliding and Flying experiences with the latter experiencing Aerobatics and G-Force all six Cadets developed their Aviation Skills and are already looking forward to their next opportunity.

300 (Isle of Axholme ) Squadron will be holding an open evening to welcome its latest recruits and allow prospective Cadets and Parents to come along and meet the Squadron and Civilian Welfare Committee on Tuesday the 22nd September .

The food will be prepared and cooked by our Squadron Adjutant (who has a valid Food Hygiene Qualification and Allergen trained) supported by the Civilian Welfare Committee.

300 Isle of Axholme Squadron has had recent Promotions for Cadet Ruby Amey and Cadet Sebastian Raithby who have recently been Promoted to the Rank of Cadet Corporal after passing their Promotion Interviews.

They were presented their Rank Slides by our Sector Commander Squadron Leader Neil Mcdonald in the presence of the Squadron Commander. They will now develop their Leadership Skills and set the Standards for our latest recruits to aspire to.

Last week saw four of our latest recruits receive their Essential First Aid Badges after learning foundation life saving skills and two of our Cadets were presented with their RAFAC 85th Anniversary Challenge Coins from our Squadron Commander Flt Lt Docherty

We have had another busy week at 300 starting off with Two of our Cadets receiving their Youth First Aid Certificate and one receiving their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award which were presented by our Sector Commander. Then on Thursday a reduced flying detail attended RAF Leeming with two Cadets enjoying Air Experience Flights. With the week being topped off with Doncaster City Armed Forces Day Parade on Saturday.

Last night 300 (Isle of Axholme) Squadron welcomed Squadron Leader Mason to be part of our Enrolment and Passing Out Parade.

We had hope to conduct the Parade outdoors but the weather had other ideas. The evening saw us formally enrol our latest intake who can now move on and engage in further activities whilst continuing their Basic Cadet Training whilst heading towards their Graduation later in the year, we also Graduated two Cadets who started with us in September last year. We also presented Cadet and NCO of the Month Certificates , a Squadron Commanders Commendation and received our Certificate for coming 3rd Place in last years White Rose Trophy.
