☀️ *Stay safe today and into the weekend* ☀️

We’re gearing up for another very hot day, with the Red Heat Health Alert in place until 11pm tonight. Into the weekend there is a possibility of thundery downpours which could cause some flash flooding. Please take extra care, look out for others, and follow this key advice:

🧊 *Stay cool*
* Drink plenty of water
* Find shade during the hottest hours (11am–3pm)
* Keep your home cool – close curtains on sunny sides
* Avoid strenuous activity in the heat
* Check on vulnerable neighbours, older residents, and young children

🌊 *Heading to the coast to cool off?*
* Look for lifeguarded beaches
* Check tides and conditions before entering the water
* Avoid swimming alone
* Keep a close eye on children at all times

* Check journeys before you travel - severe weather can affect roads and rail services
* While hot carry water with you on public transport or in your car
* Expect delays and allow extra time where possible

As we approach Armed Forces Day, Seaford Town Council warmly invites residents and visitors to come together in recognising and expressing our gratitude for the dedication and service of the UK’s Armed Forces—both past and present.

𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝘄 – 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱’𝘀 𝗢𝗻-𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗻
East Sussex County Council is reviewing on-street parking across the Lewes District—and this is a key moment to show how much these issues matter to Seaford.
Earlier this year, residents shared their concerns and ideas. From that, 15 requests were submitted—and 5 have now been included in the latest consultation stage.
We are saddened that many of our proposals are not being taken forward by the County Council at this time, but we want to make sure the 5 they have agreed to get delivered. They will take forward only those proposals that have a groundswell of support, so we need your help to show strength in numbers.

⚠️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 ⚠️

• 𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗲 / 𝗦𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁, 𝗠𝗮𝗽 𝟮𝟬 – double yellow lines
🤷🏼‍♀️Why? To keep the turning circle, and the approach to and from the turning circle, clear and running free, and to ensure safe access for emergency vehicles.
• 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 (𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀), 𝗠𝗮𝗽 𝟮𝟬 – double yellow lines
🤷🏼Why? To prevent obstruction and allow safe entry and exit for residents.
• 𝗨𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 (𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲), 𝗠𝗮𝗽 𝟭𝟵 – double yellow lines
🤷🏼‍♀️Why? To improve visibility and reduce congestion on a narrow, busy route used by deliveries.
• 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗱 / 𝗛𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗠𝗮𝗽 𝟭𝟴 – double yellow lines
🤷🏼Why? To improve sightlines and make a key bus route and school area safer.
• 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗠𝗮𝗽 𝟭𝟲 – disabled parking space
🤷🏼‍♀️Why? To provide accessible parking for rail users and the community hub.
