๐ŸŒฟ Cannabis Grow Discovered in Seaham

On Wednesday, officers from the Seaham Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a magistrates warrant at Seaham Grange Industrial Estate, where a substantial cannabis cultivation was discovered.

Two males were arrested at the scene and have since been charged. They have been remanded in custody and will next appear at Crown Court.

These types of setups are not only illegal but can also be extremely dangerous, often involving unsafe electrical connections that significantly increase the risk of fire.

Common signs to look out for include strong, unusual odours, the constant hum of extractor fans, covered windows, or other suspicious activity at a property.

If you have any information about suspected drug-related activity in your community, please report it to the police by contacting 101 or online, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

๐Ÿ” Zara Hawkins has been sentenced to 20 weeks imprisonment for three shoplifting offences and three breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). She was also ordered to pay ยฃ400 compensation to the Co-op in Easington.

๐Ÿš” A male has been charged and remanded in custody in connection with five shoplifting offences in Easington.

๐Ÿšจ A male was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and has since been bailed whilst enquiries continue.

โœ… Officers from Seaham Neighbourhood Team officially launched The Forcer Protocol alongside East Durham Veterans at an event in Murton this week.

The Forcer Protocol is a UK-wide initiative designed to help locate and safeguard serving personnel, veterans and reservists who go missing. The scheme allows important information, including vulnerabilities and places they may be found, to be recorded in advance, enabling officers to act quickly should they be reported missing.

โŒ We are aware of ongoing reports involving the use of fireworks at Red Star Park. To help tackle these issues and provide reassurance to the community, officers will be conducting high-visibility patrols in the area. Additional patrols will also continue in and around Church Street.

๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ We would like to thank residents for their continued support. If you witness anti-social behaviour or have concerns in your area, please continue to report them so we can take appropriate action.

โ€œWhen the guns go silent, thatโ€™s when the battle beginsโ€ฆโ€

Durham Constabulary officially launched the Forcer Protocol with East Durham Veterans at an event in Murton earlier today.

The Forcer Protocol is a UK-wide police initiative that helps find and protect serving personnel, veterans and reservists who go missing.

Speaking at the event, ACC Jon McAdam shared his personal experiences. He said he was โ€œproud to be part of the Forcer Protocol โ€“ a vital initiative that reinforces our unwavering commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people who go missingโ€.

He was joined by Claire Lilly, who founded the Forcer Protocol after her husband, Lance Corporal Alan James Forcer, died in May 2020.

The scheme allows important information to be recorded in advance, including a veteranโ€™s vulnerabilities and places they may be found. If they go missing, police can access this information immediately to support the search.

The free service is provided by Safe and Found Online and is run independently of the police.
