It is with great sadness we must report the sudden passing of a long serving and valued member of the Seaham Branch, Royal British Legion and RAFA, Paul Batey.
Although not a veteran, Paul’s association with the 2 charities began during his cadet days and continued on until the present day and was a stalwart in his support for the annual Poppy Appeal.
Paul was one of life’s good guys, a true gentleman and will be sorely missed by all.
We pass on our deepest condolences to his wife Karan, children Gemma, Paul and all of his family.
Paul’s funeral will take place at St. John’s church on Monday 20th July, 10:30am.

Join us tonight at 6pm at The Cenotaph on North Terrace Green next to "Tommy" for a short service to remember the 110th anniversary of the start of the 'Battle of the Somme' on 1st July 1916
We will remember them!

Show your support for our armed forces and bring the family along to Seaham Town Park today and enjoy Seahams annual Armed Forces Day
The day starts at noon with the Standards parading and taking part in the drumhead service infront of Seahams war memorial before the live entertainment gets underway infront and on the main stage

Only 1 week till this year's annual Seaham Armed Forces Day takes place on Saturday 27th June at Seaham Town Park, pop along with the family and show your support, enjoy the the parade before paying our repects at the short drumhead service, then sit back and enjoy the rest of the afternoons entertainment.

Saturday 27th June Seaham Town Council host this year's Armed Forces Day in front of Seahams war memorial in Seaham Park, where along with our branch stall our Standard Bearers will take part in the drum head service
