Have you seen the Community Governance Review consultation and wondered what it really means?

Here are answers to a few common questions we are hearing:
πŸ‘‚ This consultation is about listening to local views, your feedback will help inform any changes that are made.
πŸ“ The review does not automatically mean changes will happen in your area.
πŸ’ Taking part will not affect how you vote or require any specialist knowledge.

If you live, work in, or care about a community in Northumberland, your feedback helps make sure parish and town council arrangements are fair and reflect local needs.

Find out more and take part at πŸ‘‰ https://nland.cc/CGR

The consultation is open until 30 April 2026. The consultation is also available in paper and other formats. Please get in touch if you need help to take part.

There are all sorts of things happening across our libraries, from reading groups to community gardening projects. πŸ“– 🌻

We want to know…
βœ… how you’re using your local library now (if you don’t use libraries, please tell us why)
βœ… what you think about our plans for the future of Northumberland libraries

New Hartley Play Area – Now Open
We’re pleased to confirm that improvement works at New Hartley play area are now complete and the site is open for residents to enjoy.

Following the installation of the trampolines which were relocated from another park, the recent upgrades include:

β€’ New multi-gym equipment
β€’ Refurbished swing seats
β€’ Inclusive sensory play boards
β€’ Spinning play equipment
β€’ Improvements to fencing
β€’ New safety surfacing

These improvements form part of the Council’s ongoing programme to maintain safe, inclusive and welcoming play spaces across our communities, in line with our longer-term playpark approach and feedback from the recent playpark consultation.

We hope local families enjoy using the space over the coming weeks.
