Important information

⚠️ We’re aware of recent reports of courier fraud in our area.

‼️ Scammers are posing as banks, government agencies, and even police officers to trick people into handing over money or personal documents.

In one case, a victim was told by “their bank” to withdraw cash — thankfully, alert cashiers realised it was a scam and stepped in. In another, scammers pretending to be police collected a victim’s bank cards and ID, leading to £20,000 being stolen.

📍 Both of these reports have come from the Hexham area this week.

👀 Please stay vigilant. Banks, police, and government agencies will never ask you to withdraw cash, hand over bank cards, or give personal information.

If something feels off, stop and check with a trusted source 🛑

From February 22nd you will be able to access more stops in North Tyneside and northern parts of Newcastle including the Airport by using the Metro system. For Newcastle stay on the train, it’s quicker.

From 22 February, trains will begin calling at Northumberland Park on the Northumberland Line. 🚉🎉

This brand-new single platform station will have services to Ashington & Newcastle stopping on the same platform. Just check the screens & announcements.

Plus, enjoy easy interchange with the Tyne and Wear Metro, connecting you to 60 destinations, including Newcastle International Airport and St James’ Park.

Pop Cards accepted on both Metro & Northumberland Line.

Another date for your diary: Bedlington, the final station on the line, will open on Sunday 29 March.
