🌟 Community Grants Available! 🌟

Are you part of a local voluntary group, charity or community organisation in Seaton?

Seaton Town Council recognises the incredible contribution that voluntary and community groups make to our town, helping to improve wellbeing, support local services and strengthen our community.

There is still funding available through the Council’s Community Grant Scheme and we would love to hear from eligible organisations looking to support projects that benefit Seaton residents.

The UK Government has introduced the Great British Summer Savings Scheme, running from 25th June to 1st September 2026.

As part of the scheme, VAT has been temporarily reduced from 20% to 5% on a range of eligible activities to help families save money over the summer.

This includes:
- Children's meals in participating restaurants
- Children's and family tickets to attractions and entertainment, such as cinemas, amusement parks and soft play centres
- Free bus travel for children aged 5-15 (for specific information regarding Axe Valley Mini Travel Services, please contact them directly)

When people think of a Tourist Information Centre, they often think of maps, visitor information leaflets and people asking for directions. But there's a lot more to it than that to help ensure visitors receive a warm welcome to our wonderful town.

Tomorrow is and the RNLI Lyme Regis water safety team will be at Fisherman's Gap, Seaton, from 11am to 3pm with lots of information about water safety.

It would appear that someone chose to deliberately set fire to hedging at Underfleet Play Park last night – in addition to damaging the boundary fencing and building a makeshift bridge over the stream.

It goes without saying that this behaviour is reckless and extremely dangerous. It risks serious injury, creates access to areas that are not intended for public use and could have very serious consequences. Seaton Town Council has reported the incident to the local police – if anyone witnessed anything please contact Devon & Cornwall Police.

Every act of vandalism comes at a cost. Taxpayer-funded resources now have to be diverted to repairing this damage - the Council are prioritising the installation of temporary fencing and making arrangements for a permanent solution.

Let's work together to protect our community facilities and keep them safe for everyone.
