Tony of Kirkby Lonsdale, formerly of Burton-in-Lonsdale, passed away peacefully at Royal Lancaster Infirmary on Saturday 22nd August 2026, aged 69 years.

Loving husband to Pam, beloved step-father to Paul, proud gramps to Gemma and Olivia. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will take place at Beetham Hall Crematorium on Friday 11th September at 12.30pm. Those attending are requested to wear clothing they feel comfortable in.

ALAN JAMES MAUNDER

Of Meadowside, Garsdale Road, former Postmaster of Sedbergh, passed away suddenly but peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at Royal Lancaster Infirmary on 19th August 2026, aged 76 years.

Loving husband of Barbara, devoted father to Libby and Ben, a dear grandad, brother and friend. Alan will be greatly missed by us all.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will take place at St Andrews Church, Sedbergh on Tuesday 1st September 2026, at 2pm. Followed by a private burial at St Mark’s Cautley.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired will be shared between The Sedbergh and District Community Fund and St Mark’s Church, Cautley.

The family of Jean Haygarth (born 12thJanuary 1946) are saddened to announce her peaceful passing on 14th August 2026.

A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

JUDITH MARY STAINTON

Judith passed away at her home in Kendal on 1st August 2026, aged 61 years. Loving daughter of Mary Stainton and the late Jack Stainton, beloved sister and sister-in-law to David and Siobhan, proud and cherished god mother to Jen, Beckie and Chris. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral service to take place at Holy Trinity Church, Howgill, on Thurday 13th August at 1pm, followed by burial in the Churchyard.

It would be Judith’s wish that all in attendance wear a splash of purple.

GUY MICHAEL MARTIN

Guy, of Cotterdale, passed away peacefully on 30th July surrounded by his family in the knowledge that he was truly loved and cherished.

Beloved husband of Irene, adored father, father in law and PopPops to Roxanna, Jez, James, Belynda, Jemima, Max, Alfie and Arlo. Treasured brother to Susie and uncle to his wonderful nephews and nieces. Valued friend to so many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The funeral service to celebrate his life will take place at Beetham Hall Crematorium at 12.30pm on Wednesday 19th August,2026

Light refreshments will take place after the service at the Crooklands Hotel.

Smart dress with a splash of colour! He was after all, “larger than life”.
