DEMENTIA AWARENESS DAY
BEETHAM NURSERIES
WED 16TH SEPT

Dementia awareness continues to be at the heart of what we do, and we're proud to be marking our fourth annual Dementia Awareness Day at Beetham Nurseries on Wednesday 16th September from 9.30am-4.30pm, with Heron Hill Care Home.

The day will include a Virtual Dementia Tour, a powerful, immersive experience that puts visitors in the shoes of someone living with dementia. Using sensory tools and guided exercises, the tour recreates the sights, sounds, and challenges of everyday tasks, from getting dressed to finding your way around a room, helping people understand just how disorientating and exhausting daily life can become. It's an experience that shifts perspective in a way that facts and figures alone can't.

Dementia touches so many families, whether directly or through a loved one, friend, or neighbour, and understanding is often the first step towards better support. Events like this reflect our belief that dementia awareness shouldn't sit behind closed doors. The more people understand what living with dementia is really like, the better equipped we all are to support those affected, and the people who care for them.
