Fires from e-bikes or e-scooters are one of London's fastest growing fire risks. Over charging, cheap lithium-ion batteries and diy conversions are the main causes.

If you allow e-bikes or e-scooters to be stored within your business premises ensure you have suitable policies and procedures in place for their safe storage and prohibit on-site battery charging. Where possible provide storage outdoors and always away from escape routes.

Check-out the link below for more information, it's well worth a read and the video is a stark reminder of how rapidly e-bike/scooter fires can start and spread.

It's nearly packing-up for the weekend time for Mark Pashby and I here at Blenheim Fire Ltd HQ. It's felt like a long but fulfilling week, jam packed with meetings, FRA's, networking events, admin and we even delivered a Fire Safety Training course for members.
So we'll be heading out for dinner with friends tomorrow evening. Though perhaps not at this Teppanyaki restaurant, as I feel the flames would freak us both out!

We're thrilled to have received an invitation from Bob Blackman CBE MP on behalf of BAFE Holdings Limited, to attend a reception in the Terrace Pavillion in the House of Commons.

Our Founder, Mark Pashby, has proudly held the BAFE SP205 Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment accreditation scheme for the last 8 years via our approvals body the NSI. When asked what Mark's thoughts are on the scheme he replied "I opted for BAFE above other schemes because the tri-annual auditing process is detailed and thorough. To achieve this regular CPD is vital, to stay current with the ever changing legislation guidance and British Standards".

BAFE recently launched the sixth version of its competence scheme for Life Safety Fire Risk Assessors, and Blenheim Fire Ltd are looking forward to joining in the celebrations.

At Blenheim Fire HQ today we were chatting about a recent job we carried out at a plastic recycling plant. The plant takes hard plastics from household waste sites and grinds them all down for use in pipelines, the automotive industry, construction materials and furniture to name a few. Whilst walking around the site we noted the high number of lithium ion batteries which had been set aside for appropriate disposal. These LI batteries included wireless earbuds and hundreds of kids toys, items we don't always think of.

Whilst we might think we're disposing of our lithium-ion batteries safely and doing your bit for the environment; trotting on off to fill the local supermarket battery collection box with our dead batteries along with our weekly shopping trip. Most of us probably need to think about all the other things containing lithium ion batteries we might be throwing in our dust bins, like wireless hair straighteners, mobile phones, kids toys, kettles, power tools, heated polar-type vests, wireless headphones. The list is endless.

So when the kids are complaining that some of the things they can't live with out have died on them, remember to mention to dispose of the old stuff safely because even when they seem dead lithium ion batteries can reignite and start devastating fires, putting peoples lives at risk. with www.blenheimfire.co.uk

These are all issues which need reviewing regularly within your fire risk assessment.
Now we're sure you've already got this covered but if not and you need help or further information on how to protect the lives of the animals, staff and visitors to your premises feel free to get in touch with us Blenheim Fire Ltd

Are you busy planning your ? We bet you're all excited making plans for the most romantic day of your life. Creating beautiful entrance displays, designing eye catching tables for your guests and finishing it all with an amazing firework display.
Now we know it's boring and all seems a bit over the top and unnecessary but please don't skimp on fire safety when planning your special day. Beautiful wedding gowns, hairspray, hair extensions, ribbons, bouquets, chair covers, draped fabrics, latex and foil balloons are all highly flammable. It only takes one candle, sparkler or indoor firework to ruin your dream wedding. So please be mindful. Put and of those on your special day.
Make it romantic but also make it safe ❤️
