Volunteers’ Week 2026 - Thank you SBTO!

Scottish Borders Tenants Organisation (SBTO) is a dedicated group of tenant volunteers who work together to make a real difference in their communities. For over 23 years, SBTO has partnered with Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA) to ensure tenants’ voices are heard and reflected in housing services.

SBTO volunteers bring lived experience, passion, and commitment to everything they do - from reviewing policies and shaping services to supporting community events and engaging with tenants across the Scottish Borders. Their work has led to meaningful improvements, including more accessible communication, stronger inclusion, and better engagement with rural and underrepresented communities.

During Volunteers’ Week 1st - 7th June 2026 (link below), we celebrate the incredible contribution of SBTO members. Their time, energy, and dedication help build stronger communities, influence positive change, and ensure tenants remain at the heart of decision-making at SBHA.

We were delighted to be able to support the Selkirk Ex Standard Bearers' Junior Ride last week.

This event is now in its 12th year and continues to go from strength to strength, attracting young riders from across the Borders.
Our donation supports young people from Stable Life to take part in the ride.

Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA) is a tenant‑led, values‑driven social landlord, providing more than 5,700 quality, affordable homes across the Scottish Borders. We’re seeking a Chief Operating Officer to join our Executive Team at a pivotal point in our journey.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this is an executive leadership role with responsibility for translating ambition into consistent, high‑quality delivery. You’ll lead our operational services and corporate support functions, ensuring strong performance, effective control and positive experiences for tenants and communities.

You’ll bring clarity, pace and assurance - helping SBHA remain resilient, high‑performing and ready for the future, while staying rooted in our social purpose.

About you
You’ll be an accomplished operational leader with executive‑level experience in a complex, regulated environment, known for a coaching, growth‑oriented leadership style. You combine strategic grip with practical delivery, strong financial judgement and the ability to lead change while bringing people with you.

Working arrangements
Based in Selkirk, with flexible and hybrid working. As a senior leader, the role requires visible, accessible leadership across the organisation and communities we serve.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high‑quality customer service and making a positive difference to Tenants and communities across the Scottish Borders.

You will act as the first point of contact for our Tenants and customers, providing an efficient, responsive and professional service across a wide range of enquiries, while aiming to resolve issues at first point of contact wherever possible.

Salary: £29,717 – £32,775 per year (pay award pending)
Location: Selkirk (SBHA Head Office)
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Terms: Temporary: 1 x fixed term for 12 months, 1 x fixed term to November 2026
