Stag Volunteers Keeping entertainment live in the centre of Sevenoaks Stag Sevenoaks

Keeping live theatre and music in the heart of Sevenoaks is dependent on volunteers.

The Theatre, Plaza, The Lodge Café, The Cinema and many other regular community activities who all have their home base here wouldn’t be able to happen without the Stag Volunteers who donated over 4,556 hours of their time and energy, to keep the complex operating and improving, last year. As well as manning all the Front of House roles for every Theatre and Plaza event, the volunteers help with a

dministration, maintenance and distribution of our What’s On Guide. The 16 individual volunteering slots for school students completing D of E or CAS are sought after and we are developing our volunteering opportunities for this age group by introducing a regular weekly Saturday morning group for youngsters who want to do practical volunteering. Since the Charity started we have helped 44 young people who have been out of employment since leaving education, offering work place experience and support. We offer work experience to students in further education, tailoring it as far as we can to suit their ambitions and involving them in the management of the complex and running of events. With all this going on volunteering here is being part of the community as well as part of the live theatre and music scene in Sevenoaks, come and visit the Volunteers Office at the Plaza to find out more.
