FREE Community Basketball starting 11.6.26

We’re kicking off weekly basketball sessions at the new local multi‑use sports courts — and everyone’s invited.

Come along, get active, and enjoy the court - in the Gamecock meadow near to the Village Hall.

Scotia Gas Networks - Temporary CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION - A20 London Road, West Kingsdown - 29th June 2026 for 9 days

Because of a new gas service connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on part of A20 London Road, West Kingsdown, on or after 29th June 2026 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The cycle lane will be suspended outside Poulton House on both sides of the road as and when required.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

This is required for the safety of the public and workforce while a new gas service connection is undertaken by Scotia Gas Networks.

Please see Traffic enforcement patrol statistics from 01 May 2026 – 31 May 2026. Traffic Enforcement Officers regularly patrol these areas to try to encourage drivers to park safely. Please let your friends and family know where not to park so that they can avoid a fine.

PICKLEBALL IS NOW AVAILABLE!
The Pickleball courts are located in our Multi Use Games Courts next to the Village Hall and Community Cupboard (Court 1a & b) and are FREE to use. Just move the pickleball net over to the court and bring your own bats and balls! Pickleball bats and balls are also available from the Parish Council Council Office (when it's open) and are FREE to use. Burial Ground work party
9.30 on the 10th June

Volunteers will be carrying out a work party to tidy the burial ground. If you'd like to come along you would be very welcome, just bring some gardening gloves and secateurs.

SOUTH EAST WATER LIMITED - Temporary Road Closure - Brands Hatch Road, Fawkham - 24th June 2026 for 2 days

The road will be closed at the junction with Sun Hill.

The alternative route is via Fawkham Road, A20 London Road, Ash Lane, South Ash Road, The Street, Ash Road, Chapel Wood Road, Ash Road, Hartley Road, B260 Main Road, Fawkham Road, Valley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works are undertaken by SOUTH EAST WATER LIMITED.

BUS AND CAR EVENT GAMECOCK MEADOW, WEST KINGSDOWN SUNDAY 16TH AUGUST 10AM - 4PM

Can you help? Adult volunteers are needed to assist with stewarding the Bus and Car event to be held on Sunday 15th August 10am – 4pm. All proceeds made at this event will go to the Swanley and District Scouts, with a major share from food going to the West Kingsdown group. For more information please email [email protected]
