Shanklin Chine The Island's most historic attraction. First opening as a visitor attraction in 1817, Shanklin Chine is at the forefront of many childhood memories. Thankyou.

It's even been the source of inspiration for the likes of Keats and Jane Austen. SHANKLIN CHINE

Opening Times for 2026:

10am – 10pm from 26th March to 31st August - with last entry 9.30pm.

10am – 9pm from 1st September to 1st November - with last entry 8.30pm. Please note Last Exit from the Top Entrance known as the Old Village Entrance is 15 minutes before the Chine closes. After this time, there is no access out of Shanklin Chine via the Top Entrance. The exit is via the Bottom Entrance as known as Esplanade/ Accessibility/Family Entrance. Visitors purchasing tickets for Shanklin Chine, will automatically receive 7 days of free re-entry. That’s totally unlimited returns within the 7 days following your first day’s visit! Don't forget Charles Gold is performing LIVE in the Chine until 8.30pm tonight, along with our usual Illuminations & Halloween Animatronics.

Our SHANKLIN CHINE HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR is now well under way and that means every FRIDAY & SATURDAY up to & including HALLOWEEN night itself we have some Spooky Sounds for you with LIVE performances by the wonderful Charles Gold! 🎶🎶🎶

Catch him from 6.30pm - 8.30pm EVERY FRIDAY & SATURDAY night throughout the Half Term!

We also have our Illuminations & the Halloween Animatronics on from 5pm, as we do every evening!

Whether you have already visited the Chine this week or are planning to, don't forget your entrance ticket allows you up to 7 DAYS of UNLIMITED FREE RETURNS!

The nights are darker, the weather’s taken a chilly turn, and it’s time to get your ghoul on!

Wander the walkways, follow the trail and crack the cryptic clues as you look out for witches, werewolves and spooky spiders. Then head to Café Chine for a well-earned refuel! ☕️
