Could You Spare a Little Time to Help Your Community?

We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help at some of our community events throughout the year!

Whether it's helping at the Christmas Lantern Parade on Saturday 21 November 2026, the Minster Village Fayre on Saturday 19 June 2027, community litter picks, or other local projects, every helping hand makes a real difference.

Volunteering is a great way to:

🌿 Give something back and help keep Minster a wonderful place to live.

What a wondeful turn out at The Rotary Club Summer Spectacular this Sunday! It was wonderful to see so many people out enjoying Minster-on-Sea and the well organised event by The Rotary Club.

The government recently decided to change how local services are delivered in Kent. In April 2028, Swale Borough Council will be replaced by a new unitary council covering Swale, Ashford, Folkestone, and Hythe.

They want to know what you think about living in your area right now, what works well, and what needs improving. This is your chance to help shape their priorities, and provide the new council with a clear view of what is important to local people. Get ready for a Sunday to remember thanks to the Rotary Summer Spectacular at Barton's Point! From 12pm to 6pm on Sunday the 30th August, you can look forward to a fantastic day out with something for everyone:
Funfair Rides, Tombola, Live Music, Food & Refreshments, Craft Stalls, Pony Rides, Dog Show, Water Activities, Shows & Displays, Crazy Golf, Wrestling Show, Tug of War and so much more we cannot fit!

Minster on Sea Parish Council donated £1500 from the Community Support Fund to support the event, providing entertainment within Minster on Sea.

Sheppey Scene has put together a wonderful story about our most recent mural at The Leas. Please find the link below!

A mural of Turner's The Fighting Temeraire is being replaced by a mermaid, octopus and Thames sailing barges at The Leas, Minster, on the Isle of Sheppey.

We’re delighted to see our Community Library at the Parish Council office getting so much use and love from residents! It’s fantastic to see books being shared and enjoyed by the community.

However, we do have a small request, please only leave books that fit comfortably inside the library cabinet.

With the recent return of the rainy weather, we’ve unfortunately found a number of books being left outside the cabinet in bags and boxes. Once these become soaked, they are sadly ruined and have to go straight into the recycling.

Please remember, our community library is a book exchange, not a donation point. If the cabinet is full, please hold onto your books until there is space rather than leaving them outside.

Thank you for helping us keep the library tidy, dry and available for everyone to enjoy!

A huge thank you to Allstride Collective Run Club!

Minster on Sea Parish Council were delighted to lend our litter picking equipment to Allstride Collective Run Club, a fantastic local running group, for an amazing litter pick at Minster beach last weekend.

A brilliant 37 volunteers came together and collected an incredible 20 bags of litter!

Thank you to everyone who gave up their time and worked so hard to help keep our beautiful beach and community clean, your efforts are truly appreciated!

Minster on Sea Parish Council has recently donated £750 to Swale Sisters to help provide sustainable feminine care products free of charge, alongside advice, information and support.

This funding is inoirtant because period products should never be a barrier to dignity, health or participation in everyday life. By supporting access to sustainable products and practical advice, we can help reduce period poverty, support people in our community and make a positive difference to those who may otherwise struggle to afford essential period care.
