Killamarsh Remembrance Sunday Service 2026

Please see the notice and information below regarding our annual Remembrance Sunday Parade/War Memorial service taking place in a couple of weeks time on Sunday 8th November 2026.

Please note in advance that road closures will be in place for the duration if the parade.

Applications for the Warm & Welcoming Spaces Grant Programme are now open and close on 19 October 2026.
Funding is available for voluntary and community organisations across Derbyshire (excluding projects within Derby City).

Tomorrow (Wednesday 14th October) at the Community Hub 👇

Alongside our usual Warm Wednesday tomorrow, we have Citizen's Advice North East Derbyshire popping in for Free Energy Advice.

The Energy Redress Project is newly launched and provides free impartial support to local residents with energy costs, bills and suppliers, smart meters, energy-saving measures and accessing available financial support.

They will be joining these Warm Wednesday sessions ad-hoc, so be sure to keep an eye out for dates they will be attending.

This runs in conjunction to the ongoing appointment only Citizens Advice sessions every Tuesday in the Hub.

As the colder months approach, Killamarsh Parish Council is once again offering free bags of grit salt to support our elderly and vulnerable parishioners this winter 2026-27 period.

If you or someone you know is eligible and living in Killamarsh, you can request a bag to be delivered directly to your home.

To make a request, please contact the Parish Office by calling 0114 247 2260 during our opening times (Monday to Thursday 9am to 3pm) or by emailing: [email protected].

The deadline to request a bag of grit salt is:
Friday 20th November 2026
Deliveries are scheduled for early December.

Please be sure to request before the deadline as we cannot guarantee further deliveries.

Have your say on the future of North East Derbyshire

The Publication Draft Local Plan consultation is now open. This is the final opportunity for residents, businesses and community groups to comment on the Council's new Local Plan before it is submitted for independent Examination.

The plan will help shape where new homes, jobs, infrastructure and community facilities are located across the district in the years ahead.

You can view the draft plan online, at deposit venues, or speak to officers at one of our drop-in sessions.

The consultation runs until 11.59pm on Wednesday 18 November 2026.
