We want to give a special thank you to Alice Swift for her insights into the climate camp movement, the importance of strategic thinking, and the continued need to organise against fossil fuel interests.

In this political action-thriller, a crew of activists come together to destroy a Texas oil pipeline.

The film takes inspiration from Andreas Malm's non-fiction book of the same name, which argues that the climate threat justifies sabotage against powerful energy interests. It also engages with important related topics, such as indigenous land rights and the health consequences of living in a polluted environment.

Before the screening, Alice Swift - who has been an anti-capitalist climate justice activist for 16 years - will speak about real-life efforts to resist fossil fuel extraction projects.

Join us for a screening of How to Blow Up a Pipeline at 7.30pm on Thursday 30th April, at the Broomhall Centre.

In this political action-thriller, a crew of activists come together to destroy a Texas oil pipeline. The film takes inspiration from Andreas Malm's non-fiction book of the same name, which argues for property destruction as a valid tactic in the pursuit of environmental justice.

Before the screening begins, local activist Alice Swift will speak about real-life efforts to resist fossil fuel extraction projects. Alice has been an anti-capitalist climate justice activist for 16 years. She co-founded the fossil fuel divestment movement in 2013, helped stop fracking with Reclaim the Power, and has been fighting against coal and fossil gas with Ende Gelände in Germany since 2015.
