Make a real difference in your city - Join our Community Forestry team as a Volunteer Tree Planter!

We’re gearing up for tree planting across Sheffield parks and green spaces — and we need your help. No experience needed — just a love for the outdoors and a willingness to get stuck in!

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Planting and caring for young trees
- Working with other volunteers at our tree planting events
- Supporting city-wide tree planting projects
- Learning about urban forestry and the benefits of tree planting

When: October to April.
Where: Parks & green spaces across Sheffield.
Who: Volunteers must be 18 or over.

We provide all tools & training. Just bring your energy and enthusiasm!

Carve out some fun this October Half Term. Collect a map, find the hidden pumpkins around the woods and vote for your favourite.

One of the most popular days on our event calendar, this year we’re teaming up with Waymaster Games Ltd and we can’t wait to welcome families into the woods in search of our spooky squash friends.

The Woodland Coffee Stop - Ecclesall Woods, Sheffield will be on hand to serve up all the seasonal treats.

No need to book, just turn up Tuesday 27 October between 10am-3pm and grab a map from the Woodland Discovery Centre. £2 per child.

Sheffield General Cemetery has been selected for the Aviva Community Fund 2026 in their bid to 'Support Volunteering – Where Heritage Meets Nature'.

This means that Aviva will match each donation up to £250, so if you donate £5 Aviva will give an additional £5.

Donations are vital for maintaining the Cemetery’s beautiful landscape and keeping it accessible, and support directly contributes to preserving the site's history and nature for all to enjoy.

If you'd like to show your love for Sheffield General Cemetery now is the best time, donations will be matched through the Community Fund until Tuesday 20 October.
